Beermat, I believe Wessex Archeaology are running the recovery and they keep thing pretty much in house, you can not blame them as they need to get on with the job and when you think of the ping pong, tit for tat im right your wrong chest pounding posts in some threads here I am quite sure they are correct in keeping mum and getting on with the job in hand in the most tespectfull way without the aid of the armchair know it all.

it will all come out soon i’m sure but at least big business jas had to dig deep to get this done and not just dredged it up and dumped it without survey. Lets hope the remains can go to good homes.
    Ah, one other thing,
Now Wessex Arc will be flooded with calls and emails from interested parties for the remains I suspect.

Jack, I seem to remember one being restored at North Weald many years ago, not sure if it ever took to the skies. lovely aeroplane indeed.

I do hope If it gets back to the UK it can be displayed ‘as is’ after light conservation, I think this is the way to go and shows history in a way a lot of us never see.

Interesting to note the bio-metal corrosion in two points behind the leading edges of the wings, anyone know what sat inside?

I like the gloss, reminds me of 70s-80s BBMF Spits.

Charlie, maybe they are looking into a WWI event but it is worse for those aeroplanes with windy and wet. It maybe a clash with a big London do.
