heard but not seen, Merlins or Alisons in the distance heading north of the A12 about Ten minutes ago towards Braintree Essex.

I think the way he is dropping in it was an emergency, not a normal approach. A very good landing and the mags cut on touchdown, yes the canopies closed, may of been an oversight in all the excitement.
Glad all ended with a walkaway .
