I’m no expert on Fw190s but weren’t they all inline from the D onwards?

Same with the non-expertise of Fw190’s but I think these were Ta-152 models.

    Oh nice pics, thanks Gary.

The T-28 makes an unusual noise for a Radial.
Apparently this is attributed to the 3+3+3 design of the exhaust stacks.

Loved seeing the T-28 at Wanaka this year, beautiful aircraft.

(now does CM approve of these or do THEY need an inline too???). 😀 😮

I spent hours looking for the radiator on a Cessna L-19 once.

    Must have been shot away.

    MH

I reckon if Crazymainer believes that the Cessna Bird-Dogs are water-cooled, then he must be smokin’ some good stuff from Maine…. :diablo:

    I detect a little biasedness of Crazymainer….no ..truly honest !! I do !!!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The O-2, A-37, T-37, and T-50 are the Cessnas of the Warbird Community.

    …and don’t forget the O-1…
There’s a couple down here that are genuine warbirds (ie Korea, Vietnam).

Ahh,…think this one is beyond myself, CM.
I like looking and guessing old aircraft.

That Pietenpol Air-Camper I am going to build one day (getting the plans very soon), will end up in Stearman-style US Navy colours.

..and how does a big round air-cooled engine sound like and purr like a 27 litre V-12 ?
I reckon half of the magic of the Spitfire is it’s Merlin noise….

Radial engine = all gone !!!!

    Did some research…again !!!

The hard part of your quiz with the last aircraft was the fact that Curtiss and Martin produced this aircraft. Douglas only designed and made the DT-2.

    Martin called it the SC-1

The whole time I was looking under Douglas. I didn’t think to look to other manufacturers for producing the same model.

Guess it’s like Vought and Goodyear for the Corsair.

    Thanks for that, CM.

    Was going stircrazy !! 😀

Anyhow, I knew it was a derivative of the DT-2, the family resemblance is definitely there.
