    Thanks….actually the P-40 was taxi-ing in after a display…

    The Chaika & Ratas were flown by John Peterson, Steve Taylor and John Lanham.

    Also I think John Lamont took another of the Rata’s up but had to do a quick landing due to a problem (never did find out what went wrong).

    ha ha, I really put my foot in with that didnt I !!:D
    Some of them didn’t come out very well and there’s some modern day RNZAF display pic…a 757 doing 400 knots 500 feet off the ground would you believe !!!:eek: (yes I did get a pic of that)

    But I do have some more good historic stuff like this Chaika !!!

    Perhaps, but I’m sure the remaining altitude for the pullout would have been marginal…assuming it was near vertical.

    He would have definitely needed to go down to the hardware store to buy 5000 new rivets..:D

    Great pics, Laurieb, thanks.
    I have the footage at home on video. They go for about 200 metres and then drop into the sea.

    They do look strange on the deck with little wings, running.

    What a waste ay.:(
