Or maybe she’s just in for repairs???
I think by removing one engine and flying with the remaining 3 will keep you out of balance if it ever flew it must have been difficult to fly.
You could be right about a short ferry flight.
Still strange to remove the whole engine and nacelle
B-17g dina might
HP 57 do you know what happened with the b-17g dinah Might it was recovererd 100% complete!
Some sources say it was scrapped by scrap farmers??
Does anything still exist of this aircraft.
Cheers (groetjes), Robert 🙂
I remember seeing pictures of the b-17g dinah might it was 100% complete with only bend proppelor tips and a crushed chin turret.
When large portions of water was drained near the ijselmeer now flevoland these relics just surfaced.
Most of these wreck are scrapped including this b-17g (it was found if i remember correct in the mid ’60 or early ’70’s).
These wreck must be salvaged and preserved (or restored )and go to a museum.
Prefferebly in the country where they are found.
Although not in a lake a b-29 superfortess is still lying in zeeland when it ditched there.
There where rumours that parts would be salvaged but i haven’t heard anything about it ever since.
Maybe anyone here nows about this b-29??
Flying A is that a company??
Does it restore aircraft?
And is this a static restoration or a flying?
I don’t think it was fire The way i see it it’s in the progress of scrapping look at the big chunks of metal lying there.
What waste of a beatifull machine.
The site says it was in use as nightclub (in France??)
Although this aircraft is no exception vintage arliners and others are still undere threat of scrapping and vandalism.

How about a Thunder Mustang looks great although a bit expensive;)

Right wing?
What ever happened to the right wing?
Was this part also salvaged or found?
P-40e with russian engines
Why they did is because there was a lack of spares for the Allisons engines.
A large number of p-40 where grounded because of that.
They fitted one with a Soviet M-105P engine and it worked great.
Almost the same preformance as the Allison engines.
So a lot of p-40 where equiped with the soviet engines.
Combat with the Kittyhawks included ramming. It was said
that the Kittyhawks fivelongoron wing structure was appreciated as pilots could afford to lose several longorons in physical contact!
UK scrapyard pics

Some pictures from the internet.
I thinks that this is the replica that once stood at the Twenthe Airforce Base museum.
Nice website and nice pictures.
Thx
Awesome p-47d i find your work great!
That must be a lot of work building something nice from the revell kit.
Maybe you can build a 1/32 P-38 with some scratchbuilding there are a lot of recearch photo’s for you on the web.
I found another version of p-47d no guts no glory but it’s camouflaged link for the decalset in 1/48 scale: http://m2reviews.cnsi.net/scotts/decals/super/ss48879.htm
It’s in a good condition.
Is the tail the only thing that was salvaged or salvageble?
Try this link for the pictures;)
