I have a sinking feeling about this…
Someone had to say it.
Yeah, I know. Hat, coat, taxi…

As this seems to have degenerated into a crap joke thread, here’s another for Jim:
What is the difference between a married man and a stopped clock?
The clock is right twice a day.
If a man is alone in a forest and speaks, is he still wrong?
By the way – Interesting piece about the “Brontosaurus”. 😀

I hold my hand up to being a big kid at heart – Good to see that there are others like me who haven’t quite grown up! 😀
…a Corgi Routemaster, the one with jewelled headlights, realistic suspension, and a ‘Clippie’…
Still have mine.
She is a little worse for wear, the tyres are perished, the platform pole is long-gone, as is the Clippie, but I have been known to ‘drive’ her around my PC desk.
Back in the 1970s, Mum and Dad used to buy me a diecast toy every payday (Friday). I remember having to save my pocket money to buy the bigger toys.
I still own a lot of my old Dinkys, however, some did get sold in the 1980s to fund my other love, model railways. More of that anon.
My full complement of Dinky buses still exists, with the exception of my AEC Merlin (No. 283, the one with the opening doors and bell), that one somehow developed serious corrosion and was recently cannibalised to repair others.
Like Steve and MSR777, I am currently seeking examples of the diecasts I once owned. Many of the ones I buy are incomplete, fortunately replacement/ replica spare parts are available from several sources.
Some of you will be aware that I am a keen model maker.
As with the diecasts, I am aiming to re-acquaint myself with the models from my past.
There are a couple that I probably will not be able to obtain (unless Airfix re-issue them, are you listening chaps?); for example, the Airfix 1:12 Julius Caesar and the Boy Scout in the same scale (the latter was bought for me after I myself had joined the Scouts), I have no idea what happened to either.
Steve, that is an incredible display! 😮 I thought my stash was large…
Model trains are another area of interest for me. Even now, I can think of nothing better than retiring to the loft with a nice pint/ large mug of tea, and sitting watching the trains go by.
I still have the very first train set that was bought for me, for my 4th birthday. It consisted of a ‘Hymek’ diesel, and 3 Mk.2 coaches. The diesel still runs, but hates the newer Peco points that my layout is equipped with.
One can buy replacement wheels, but I don’t have the heart to modify her.
Keep ’em coming chaps – I love this thread! 😉

I wonder how many calls Todd gets? :diablo:
There is a howler in my local gym’s sauna.
I’ll try and get a pic.

Very lucky. 😮
He could so easily have gone under the wheels of his own vehicle.

ZRX61, laviticus,
When they have to reverse, I always tell my female relatives to “keep going backwards until the bumper makes a noise!” :diablo:
I love hospital food.

Poor thing.
Now, where did I put my violin?

I’m sure I read in a recent news story about a WW2 pilot who was killed because he was “unable to eject”.
