Some embarrassment no doubt but largely, I would suggest, a focus on how they are going to achieve the aims they are set with the kit they are being given. I doubt that pride comes into in any longer….:(

It’s a dilemma. Private pensions hold the risks you mention added to the fact that it is impossible to project a pension 50 years ahead. State pensions rely solely on taxpayer funding with the revenue being drawn to fund their own as well as everyone else’s pensions. And the tax paid can only increase.

Has any country yet solved the problem?

I have become increasingly uncomfortable with the relatively new phenomenum of the public procession of coffins thtrougfh Wiltshire. Surely the choice of how their relative’s remains are returned to them should be the relatives’ choice and as private or as public as they wish.

There are strong political overtones to it, with some of the media using the occasions to make a political point about the action in the Middle East.

A Danish friend of mine expressed surprise and asked if the relatives minded these processions and I said that I was not sure if they were asked.

Perhaps they should be.

If that programme is the benchmark it can’t go far wrong!:) I do feel for John Green, although we should not pre-judge what does not exist, but the number of “documentaries” which cannot resist recreated historical cameos far outnumbers the old fashioned, unadulterated well written documentary with strong, knowledgable presentation.
