Reporting events is one thing, speculating on what happened is just irresponsible because none of us has all but a handful of images and reported comments. This was a very serious accident with the loss of an experienced pilot as well as spectators on the ground. It ill behoves us to debate the wheres and whyfores of what might have happened.

I think we can be cynical about the motives of some, whilst applauding the generosity of spirit of thousands of others. I don’t see the two as being mutually exclusive.

Charitable donations are taken off before tax so that the gross tax is reduced by the amount of the donation before Corporation Tax is calculated. I have not checked but I would imagine many large PLCs donate a percentage of their profits to charity. It helps them and is very good for their PR.

But if they were using email you would hope that their children or grandchildren would have told them to BEWARE, or set up a scam box for them……….:(

You wonder how anyone could fall for Mr Parkason’s appallingly worded “scam”!:(
