The only good thing in what your stating, is that you can take it to the loo, if it’s that gripping!!
I think you should get 50% of the telly Pete not 20%.:D

Well, for a start, I just could’t watch a film or whatever, continualy every time I watched something on say a 14, 15, 17, inch screen for a start, and another thing to consider, unless you live by yourself, you would want what sizes we have now in TVs. My TV is a good 20 feet away from where I sit, and be honest Pete, if you had a small screen as your suggesting, I bet you would moan if it were a cricket or Rugby match you were watching.Like the Rugby tomorrow;)

Sorry to disappoint you, Linc, but since Mrs SH dominates the TV, 80% of what I watch, I watch on my laptop, smartphone or nanopod. A small screen a foot in front of you is the same as a large screen 20′ away.:)

WRONG :p Marmite was invented here in England in 1902!! Where was the computer then ?.Yes, I do realise you stated NOW, but that’s only because of mass production lines controlled by comps, but originaly, it was mans brains.

    Lincoln .7

Well that was exactly my point – NOW……that IS the point.:p

And my comment about television is that it might not be possible to buy a TV set in another 10/20 years. Watching TV on some form of computer might well become the norm.

Yes, I’ll go along with most that. What I meant about television becoming obsolete was that computers in some form or another – pods, smartphones, pads, notebooks – will take over from conventional television. We can already watch what we want to watch at a time of our choosing and I am sure that process will evolve more. As to the content of what we watch..well, that’s another debate.

But we are not debating the failure of inventions are we? Apart from marmite most of the other things mentioned can go wrong. And if computers do fail there is nothing else except another computer, is there? QED!!

Afterthought – you can’t make marmite now without a computer!!:dev2:

Aren’t we all? I am not talking about the one we stare at most days but the ones we can’t see which are used in some form or another in almost everything we do. We can’t avoid them unless we become hermits. So not biased so much as accepting that they are a part of our lives and here to stay.
