I can think of several places where I meet friends and none are Starbucks! Fortunately we have the choice of venues where the coffee is drinkable!!:D

I wholeheartedly endorse your last paragraph, but, and it is a big but, we enthusiasts tend to take a very subjective view, which is hardly surprising, as it is our passion.

Trying to entice those with little or no interest is not easy. Parents and spouses can include other halves and children and childrens’ friends in visits to shows and museums but if the interest is not there to be kindled then it won’t happen. I’m sure schools have a role to play, as is clear from posts to this thread. But like any sport or hobby the spark is the starting point and it is counter-productive, in my view, to try to impose ann interest on those who seem not share ours.

The other problem is perhaps that there is so much for us to be involved in and we all have a finite amount of time to indulge our interests so that some will take preference over others.

Patience is the watchword, I think, together with some gentle nudging…!

Nor did I. I haven’t googled it, but others here may be aware of its history – if not it’s one for AIX, I suppose. And I had not seen the original thread, so I wasn’t being negative. There might be some mileage in it yet – do not lose hope Richard Gray!;):)

What is its particular significance? A relief that no lives were lost, of course.

I was wondering that. Are there still a large number of 125s on the civil register?

After having spoken with the landowners over summer this years just gone, I almost managed to secure a deal for her, however due to some people being morons, that fell through….

WR985 will stay where she is until the earth decides to reclaim her – As you can see she’s in a terrible state inside! 🙁

The T7 in the photo’s belongs to the same chap who owns the Prince on the gate and as Mr Burke says above – The whirlygig belongs to the landowners

Bizarre! The “landowners” are clearly not interested so you wonder why they would not be happy to be shot of it to someone who cares.:(
