Exactly the same thought I had! Each reporter and crew will be knocking back 6 litres water per 24 hours. How many crews are there? Let’s go wild and assume about 75 of the 220 nations have put crew there. 75 * 2 = 150 * 6 = 900 litres per day and they’ve been there 8 days. 7,200 litres or 3,266 pounds in weight. That’s at least 2 air drops a week for the reporters. They all look clean too, but let us assume they are using wet-wipes or the dew off the morning grass to wash.

Seems like we are on our own on this one, Old Shape. And even if we halve your rule of thumb calculations that effort to support those who don’t need it, is outrageous.

Because it still would have been a stupid comment to make but may not have been picked up.

    Why take the risk?

Sorry but the Euro only continues to thrive because it is being propped up by the banks. Left to its own devices it would have failed within about 5 years.

Try convincing Drabslab of that – he is in seventh heaven over there in Belguim.;)

I usually circumvent the irritation of “I’m good” (blame Ozzie soaps for that one) by asking “are you well?” it works.

You promise no one ever says “Yea, I’m good thanks!”…………

I didn’t know anyone still watched Aussie soaps.

I think you are taking this a little too far Steve.

Have never once, ever, in jest, told someone you were gonna hit them or kill them? You’ve never quipped “I’m gonna kill you for that” or similar in response to a practical joke or funny remark? You have never once joked to someone about strangling their son, daughter, friend, relative or pet for doing something annoying?
By your definition, all the above is immature and puerile.

This chap perhaps should not have made his remark, given the current climate. But 10 years ago, no one would have battered an eyelid at it.
Have we become so paranoid now that we are to curtail freedom of speech and freedom of expression? I thought we fought a world war to protect that. Or am I wrong?

I think you are a bit out of touch, my friend. We live in a more restricted society than we ever have since the war. Our freedoms are suppressed, there is a whole raft of words we daren’t say for fear of arrest, we are all assumed to be paedophiles, we are spied on left, right and centre – this is a crap country these days. Paranoia suggests irrational fear – not here, it is only too rational!

    Oh no it wouldn’t!:D

I think it would, Kev. One of things we all do in the forums is debate and argue with each other, usually in a friendly way, and out of that come new thoughts and new ideas. We often end up agreeing to differ but sometimes, I would suggest, understanding the other man’s opinion more than when we started.

Wouldn’t you admit that the wonderful diversity in these forums of opinion, temper, intransigence, pragmatism, generosity of spirit and sheer bloody-mindedness is more interesting than us all agreeing all the time?:D

Fine by me, Grey. It would be a boring old world if we all agreed with each other, wouldn’t it?:)
