Leave the EU ?

OK then ………and watch every single international company leave the UK.
The world economy is global leave the EU and watch a depression turn into a one country depression.

Do I like everything that happends in the EU, certainly not but to leave it would be Economic suicide.

As for keeping the pound, that really is little Englander again. It’s all about the Dollar, yen, euro etc the pound is meaningless.

We are a small nation with huge economic problems. We have very little manifacturing left and rely on the city to survive. We leave the EU and what is left of the City will be off to Franfurt faster than you can say sausage. Excatly how would we survive as a nation then.

Heads up all, we don’t have empire any more.

Whilst we are on the subject, lets join the 21st century and leave the 18th. Can we have a sensible voting system, a wriiten constitution, a bill of rights, AN ELECTED SECOND CHAMBER and a voted for president as Head of State. If we do these things and create a proper legal system we might just become a proper democraftic country.

Rant over, Happy Christmas and an excellent New Year to all. Especially those in the UK aviation industry which is just about dead and 2010 could kill it off once and for all.

Well I’ll forget I ever read any of this tosh, but wish you a Very happy New Year, anyway! Mind you we do agree agree on one thing – the UK aviation industry.:)

Whether you like it or not, there are other opinions out here than your own.

I respectfully suggest that you learn to deal with it, just as most of the rest of us have.

Oh, come on GA, take it easy – it is Christmas. If you are really saying that it is a matter of opinion and not a matter of fact that nations have particular national identities then I would be interested to see how many agree with you.

As for your last sentence I am not clear what to read into it. I hold strong opinions as do many others here, some with far stronger feelings than mine. And most of these debates fail to bring the contributors closer to each others’ points of view so we all end up agreeing to differ. I have no problem with that, as you know.

Is all this endless speculation either necessary or helpful? It happens after most aviation incidents and seems tpo me to serve no useful purpose.

When the official report is published we will have all the facts.

A fine pilot was killed, which is a tragedy, and the report will reveal how and why.

For a start, the UK is comprised of 4 countries – England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, each with their own distinct culture, history and traditions.

Within each of these 4 broad divisions there exists a variety of regional identities.

To speak in terms of a “UK identity” or, for that matter, a “Spanish identity” or a “German identity” is to indulge in over-simplification and stereotyping.

I am not sure that that is entirely fair. Of course what you say is correct in the same way that Normandy differs from Provence or Saxony from Bavaria or Catalonia from Andalucia but it is pedantic to maintain that people should not accept and understand that Germans, Danes, British, Italians, French, Spanish etc are different from each other, however over-simplified it might be.
