Yep, that will be too late for airport action.

But! Just look up over Göteborg city at 17.30 and there will be formation flights promoting the airshow 🙂

Mondariz, yes it is based in the south of Sweden in Eslöv (with the lovely sound this machine is making, you could almost here it over in Denmark ;))

N-reg will be fine for a while, Sten is talking to the authorities and will change to Swedish reg if so is required.

The profits of Biltema have been very well spent buying this Spitfire:), it makes me even happier to visit their store in Malmo whenever I pass by. Where is this Spitfire normally based? ( I have a summer house near Angelholm)

SMS88, you will find that Biltema’s warbirds are based almost in your garden 😮 That’s right – they operate out of Ängelholm airport.

A great chance to see both their Mustang and Spitfire in action will be at the Göteborg Aero Show on August 30-31, 2008.

TJ, thanks for nice shots. I wanted to go to Kjeller but then “reality kicked in”…

This technology is known to have been used in the Saab 2000 – in the cabin, that is. But for the outside noise… I guess it’s a bit more tricky?

Back to the original subject – Göteborg Aero Show. It is now confirmed that the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight intend to participate with both the SAAB J 35 Draken and the SAAB J 32 Lansen (perhaps even two!). Don’t miss this! 🙂

A visit to the Aeroseum is highly recommended even if you can’t make it to the airshow. See website for the guided tours.

Another nice museum is Svedino’s, further down on the Swedish west coast.

Swedish Air Force Museum – Flygvapenmuseum – shouldn’t be missed, and Västerås is a good place if you like the flying stuff.

It amazes me how different the “health status” of warbird and vintage aviation is perceived.

Some talk about regression as a fact. And yes, the days of massive military shows are most likely over, at least in Europe. Still others say we have not since WWII (or whenever) had more flying examples of type X, or never before a more diverse historic aircraft fleet.

We can be sure of one thing – the scene is constantly changing. To better and worse. 😎
