RE: Duxford car parking question
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-05-02 AT 09:40Â PM (GMT)]Well here’s hoping you see this before you leave in the morning!
My advice would be the come off the M11 at J11 and join the A10 and cut across to the A505 that way so you approach Duxford from the west…of course this doesn’t guarantee you WON’T end up on the Officers’ Mess side, but hopefully you won’t! 😉
P.S. Sorry for not replying sooner, I couldn’t get into the board all day yesterday and now is the first chance to get on the computer all day!
RE: RNHF Firefly
Aaaaah…that’s a shame…my parents visited the FAAM on Saturday and were lucky enough to have a tour of the RNHF’s aircraft, and that was the explanation they were given then…it doesn’t surprise me about the paperwork clearance though…
Well here’s hoping for Flying Legends 🙂
RE: RNHF Firefly
As of last Saturday, the Firefly had not flown as there had been a couple of “gremlins” in the system which have now been dealt with…
Fingers crossed she will make it to Duxford on Sunday 😉
RE: All time favourite Movie???
Each to their own Geforce 🙂

Dambusters
Battle of Britain
Mosquito Squadron
The Full Monty
Fifth Element
Chicken Run
Shirley Valentine
The Bodyguard
Four Weddings and A Funeral
Terminator 2 (not such a fan of the 1st film)

Oooooooooooh Matron! 😉
RE: Favourite War Movies / themes
Jim…most DEFINITELY not! They are two completely different themes 😉
RE: Spitfire RN201
It’s still another good pic Damian, thanks 🙂
Sadsack…I believe there are plans to, but I don’t know any more than that…watch this space 🙂
RE: Favourite War Movies / themes
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-04-02 AT 08:44Â PM (GMT)]Well…Battle of Britain has to be my favourite…not so much for the plot, but for the Spitfires…and the sight of Duxford recreated as a wartime Battle of Britain station…
And as for war theme…I can’t BELIEVE none of you have mentioned Dambusters?!?
Grrrrrrrrrr 😉
By far my favourite of the war themes 🙂
RE: Spit TE566 crashes in South Africa
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-04-02 AT 07:53Â PM (GMT)]Steve…I couldn’t have put it better, thank you…
RE: Spitfire RN201
Great pic Damian 🙂
RE: Spitfire RN201
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-04-02 AT 12:06 PM (GMT)]It’s funny you should say that Steve…driving home last night I could see a Spitfire going through her paces at about 6.40pm, but could not see which one it was…It’s been a busy morning here and I haven’t had a chance to catch up with things “over the road”…letting my standards slip ~sniff~ 😉
Let’s hope she makes an appearance at the airshow…:)
~Gets out fluffy Spitfire polishing stick in preparation~
RE: I will not leave
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-04-02 AT 07:47 AM (GMT)]Kelly…just think “water off a duck’s back”…just don’t worry about it…it’s not worth wasting your time on 🙂
And Hand 87…I like your comment about a woman’s point of view…thank you 😉
RE: Pet hates !!!
1) People who drive whilst talking on their mobile phone
2) Kids who act like spoilt brats
3) Adults who act like spoilt brats
4) Those stupid handbags that are so popular at the moment ~ shaped like a matchbox with a teeny weeny strap ~WHY?!? You can hardly fit your car keys in, never mind anything else!
5) “Pop Idol” ~ what a waste of space!
6) People who pull out in front of me on the motorway without signalling ~ b*******!!!
7) Girls with stick insect figures who think if they happen to eat two lettuce leaves they’ll put on 3 stone
8) Jars that are screwed up so tight you can’t open them
Hmmmmm….sure I’ll think of some more later…
RE: Did TFC ever swap that Hurricane?
Sadsack…yes it would be nice to be that rich…but does it matter what they did? What matters to me is that these lucky men and women have the money to do what so many of us would love to do: preserve and fly historic aircraft…and in doing so keep alive the memories of the men and women who flew and serviced these aircraft…
