And then there was me, who trotted along to the Tank Bank in search of the clicker-clique hedgehog on Sunday, and couldn’t spot any of you! I also galloped straight past Moggy in the Flypast enclosure, and got dragged back to him by the scruff of my neck by Mr Ashley 😀 I saw Mike J from an distance in the crowds but obviously didn’t squawk loudly enough to get his attention (and you try ploughing through the herds surrounding the stalls…oh and red suits you Mike ;))
(Guzzinneil and Bob…if I trampled straight past you in the enclosure then I apologise – the above proves that I should have been wearing my glasses :D)
Lovely pics Darren, especially that last Sally B one 🙂
While I don’t think that we could ever ‘win’ a war on terror in that we could bring an end to terrorism – that would be impossible, I do think we have ‘won’ in that we will not let ourselves be beaten, and when the going gets horrendous, we still get on with it. Some people mock the so called British ‘stiff-upper lip’ spirit, but I think it’s something as a nation (our multi-cultural nation) we do well. Mind you, as I typed that last sentence I remembered that last week’s bombing suspects were all British citizens, they didn’t show much ‘British spirit’, did they? I guess I will just have to think of them as British in name, but not true Brits to the core.
Aargh! Waffling again! Sorry…

Because we have standards crazymainer 🙂 And because this isn’t an adult only site. Although the word might have had other connotations previously, it is probably most commonly thought of a curse (or cuss to you Americans 😉 ) word.

Stewart…your enthusiasm for historic aircraft is second to none, and I very much doubt that there are any forum regulars who could question your committment and dedication to your ‘chosen causes’. Good luck for the future sweetheart, and don’t be a complete stranger 🙂
Lovely photos, thank you 🙂 I waved like a mad thing from the Flypast enclosure both times the Lanc taxied past – who was positioned where in the Lanc? Particularly after Thursday’s events, you guys made me feel so proud, and the Lanc’s appearance was made even more poignant to me as it is now 12 weeks since my neighbour, former Mid UpperGunner, Alec Bance, who participated in no less than 21 missions deep into enemy territory in Lancs, had a severe stroke. He has still not regained full consciousness, and it is feared he never will 🙁 Thanks BBMF boys for keeping the memory of men like Alec alive.

Come on Alex, Whalebone was hardly excusing the mass murderers and blaming the victims. Whalebone is of the opinion that Tony Blair should bear some responsibility for Thursday’s attacks after bringing the UK into a war with Iraq (particularly in the light of what we now know about WMD in Iraq) If you don’t agree with the opinion fine, but please don’t accuse people of ignoring the victims of last Thursday’s blasts because their opinion differs from yours.

Some of you will realise that I have just performed an extensive bit of pruning on this thread. As well as removing the offending threads I have also pruned most of the posts directly relating to them. If you are in the latter group, it is nothing personal, it just makes the thread easier to read for others without having to wade through half a conversation.
Good forumites, can I PLEASE suggest that you make use of your ignore function if someone annoys/irritates you. The petty squabbling (and I am well aware that there are certain members whose sole contribution to the forums is to try and irritate certain other members as) has become extremely tiresome, and as a result we have and continue to lose valued forum members for whom these forums have been spoilt by this.
Have a happy and safe weekend everyone,
Becka
Lovely pics Tim, thank you 🙂
(And to the person who decided to give this thread one star, get a life! Jealous by any chance? :D)
Justice oscar duck, not revenge – we will/should not lower elseselves to their level.
Still overcast 15 miles north west of Cambridge, hopefully it will brighten up later!
There is something to be said for being able to work in a place where if you pop out of the office for something you are greeted by the sight of Sally B and Pink Lady accompanied by two B-25s flying directly over your head 🙂 I don’t know how to describe it, but there is just something special about standing on your own in a deserted area being treated to the sight of these multi-engined beasts – as much as I love airshows, sometimes seeming to be the only person watching is just as special, if not more so.
Lots and lots of lovely piston traffic in the skies at the moment – bliss 😀
