In line with what SteveYoung is saying, today my father finds out if the growth removed from his eye is cancerous or not…this has been hanging over my family since Christmas, and there have been times when I have watched some of the squabbling here in recent times and thought “c’mon, there are more important things to stress about”…We are all guilty sometimes overreacting to something that really isn’t that worth getting worked up about [b](and YES, I include myself in that before anyone says something)/[b], but there are situations that occur in life sometimes that really shake you up.

Avro’s Finest…I have an old Duxford guide book at home from the late 70s with a picture of Duxford from the air taken on the front…I will dig it out and compare…

Ashley: This is a great idea. Can it only be shown at Duxford or would it be possible to take it to another airfield clubhouse for showing? What format is it in?

We have two copies – one neg, one print, both on 16mm format, which obviously requires a 16mm projector for transmission.

However, transferal to VHS can be done…;)

Does she have any interests of her own? Like a hobby? Does she like historic houses? Nature? Gardening? Is there a way she could become a volunteer in one of these areas if she is? Does she have a good friend or two close by? Get together with them and do something – a girl’s day/night out or whatever…

There has to be give and take in every relationship, and one has to accept that sometimes one’s partner enjoys different interests…a happy medium has to be found so that both parties can enjoy their respective interests, while holding on to some quality time together (sorry hate that phrase but it fits best!) I hate football with a passion for example, but if my husband wants to watch a match on TV, then fine, I’ll go and sort through my photographs, or play on the computer, or phone someone up for a chat…then at other times we do stuff together…

I know I am biased in that I’m with you on the aeroplane front, but what is she afraid of? Does she think you’re going to run off with someone you meet there? There are far far worse places you could be paying regular visits to…why does she perceive your aviation interest as a threat?

I hope you two can find some common ground to work on together…but if she really will not try and meet you half way, then…

I am lucky in that Mr Ashley is very accomodating in complying with my aviation forays (he knows what is good for him ;)) I do try and limit my aviation outings a little as we are saving hard at the moment to pay off our debts, and it’s not fair of me to gallivant all over the country every weekend, but I do try and keep my toes in the water…
