Flipping the coin-if you have a logbook, medals, pathfinder certificate-and no family line to pass on to,What does one do. Pass to a museum who sells on duplicates or puts them in a box in the ‘archives’ lost forever. It may contain little of general interest, but have great setimental value.
I have made pdf of items and put onto website with airmans history-the best I can do at the present.

There are a few buildings still left in the communial area to the North of the Offord/Graveley road, but most succumbed to the original use of farming some years ago. I managed to get some photos of these buildings
and have managed to identify them on the plans of the airfield.
The 35/635 association placed a memorial at the entrance to the old airfield in memory of 35 squadron and 692 squadron who flew from there in 1944/45. look at http://rafgraveley.wordpress.com/ for a bit more detail-(the site is under development.)
There has been a great deal of opposition to the wind farm from locals, but overuled or ignored. Only now are the planning authorities having doubts about the overall benefits of such plans- too little too late!
Paul H. (my interest is that my late father was a w/op in a lancaster crew with 345 squasdron in 1944/45)
Crash of an 18 Operational Training Unit Wellington in October 1944
At 2245hrs (10.45pm) on Monday 16th October 1944 Vickers Wellington
LN536 (Mk X) of 12 OTU crashed near Warrington, Bucks, killing the crew of
six. It had been in the air for 3hrs 30 minutes and would have been heading
back to its base at Chipping Warden, Northamptonshire when it is thought
fire took hold. Despite wartime censorship a reference was made to the
incident in 20th October issue of the Beds Times and Standard: “Aeroplane
Crashes in Flames / Villagers Search for the Crew / When an aeroplane
crashed in flames about half a mile from Lavendon on Monday night, scores
of villagers searched the neighbourhood in the hope of finding members of
the crew, who, it was thought, might have jumped to safety. The ‘plane had
exploded above the village a few minutes earlier.
The NFS arrived from Olney, but for some time could not get near the
wreckage because of exploding ammunition. Later parachutes were
discovered near the ‘plane and it was assumed that all the crew had lost
their lives.”
found by googling Wellington LN536
