🙂 Keep it very quiet but ive heard that the the Tracey family will be flying Thunderbird 1 in formation with the E E Lightning :p
Thats not good news!!!!! Thunderbird 1 has an image wiping function so no photographs can be taken!
OK…

The Herc tankers have long been retired due to extra fatigue caused by their additional role. I believe they were scrapped
Out of the 5 converted, 3 were sold to Sri lanka! others scrapped at Cambridge
Is is true that Marshall’s are going to ‘deconvert’ ‘Snoopy’ from a W.2 back to a C.1 for the Austrian Air Force, as it has so few flying hours?
Whaaaaat!!?? noooooooo!!!! tell me this cant be true – not poor old snoopy. Surely there are extra standard Hercs on the market – equivalent Es and Hs that the Austrians could have???
More than a year ago I heard that the Hercules tankers that were converted by Marshall’s of Cambridge for the Falklands conflict were near the end of their flying days and would be ‘dismantled’ . I emailed the PR people at RAF Lynham, Duxford and Marshalls to suggest that a Hercules should be preserved and what better than one of the tankers. I never received any replies
mmitch.

How about these?

(This is a UH one!)
A few more- jets rule! ….

What about the Canberra???someone must like that old thing…?…..anyone….hello…
Dont forget the “old thing” is still in service!!
This isnt though, any more

Excellent photos guys, especially of Delta’s Gnat, thanks Box Brownie, we were based at Kemble (2000 through to 2002), so we got to see a lot of their aircraft particularly G-FFOX/WV318.
Andrewman, I think its about time you started to promote your Jet Forum, I am more than willing to put a link to your web site through ours.
Does anyone have any recent photos of the following Classic Jets:
The Collins Foundation Phantom and the expertly polished F-100 Super Sabre that can be found on the US Airshow circuit? I believe that the F-100 was up for sale recently.Lastly thanks to you all for your comments, I wish you all a great Airshow filled Summer, Kemble Air Day anyone?? 😀
Is this the F100 you mentioned???

Oh and Bricks?..

A-HAA!!!!!!!! And shes got 230 gallon fuel tanks! – now she can ferry to Canada….Doh, No I didnt mean that!! She has to stay here and fly on the show circuit.
Thats the fairly unique A&AEE scheme she had though ripple is just as gorgous – perhaps if there is an issue with the ripple scheme in private hands a repaint to that may be possible.
Having said all this I had heard she was time exired!??
Here she is with baby tanks;

Spit that again my friend, 601 is an FGA.9, the only possible airworthy one left.
Hunter Flying Club are hoping to keep her in this country, the T.7 though, is going to the Northen Lights operation in Canada.
XE601, though upgraded to ‘9 standard was never officially called one and didnt even get an F6″A” suffix!
Ive seen ‘601 carrying 4 drop tanks, though not the larger 230 gall ones.
She has GOT to stay over here – and in that scheme please!!!!!!!!!!!
1. In pic #3 of the first set, the Helo serial 82+03, what is that? It looks like a puma of a sort, Is it an S-92? If so, when did the Luftwaffe get it/them.
2. In the following pic (#4 of the first set), I see a Lynx, is that a Marinen one? Which type are they using now, have they upgraded them?
3. The A310 MRTT, have any more joined the fleet yet? I read a couple of months ago that the first one had just joined the service, just curious about the others. IIRC the First one had a name (August something) are the others similarly named?
4. I miss the old Marinien colours on the Tornados, it was great, this doesn’t look nice at all 🙁
5. The Phantom in the last pic of the second set has a small R on the side of it, is that Richthoffen geschwadder?
6. The tiger, I don’t like the mast mounted sight, glad Australia is getting the roof mounted one. Also, weren’t the Germans getting the gun in the nose as well? I believe that I read somewhere that the gremans had decided to add the gun (could be wrong though).
7. Third set, second pic, the plane in front of the Typhoon taking off looks like a Zlin, is it? If so who owns it and are they still in military use?
8. The chaps in the military uniforms: The two in the middle are from a naval service of some sort, Hat and rank epulettes give that much away, not sure which country, the other two guys in Green would be Army types, and that leaves the last guy at the back in Black with the big cap, that is of a similar style to Russian navy officers, as such I’d guess that they are from a former soviet block country.
1.AS532U-2 Cougar (Super Puma) the FBS at Tegel have 3 for VIP flights, delivered 97-98
2.Yes, “Sea” Lynx Mk88A with new radar nose, MFG 3 Nordholz
3.FBS have 4 MRTTs, dont know about the names.
4.Agreed, they’ve been like this since 1988 and are set to go late this year.
5.Indeed, JG71 out of Wittmund
6.Dont know – helos arent my bag!
7.It looks like a Zlin 143 but they are not in military service
8.Who cares!?
Oh and by the way, pic #1 in the second set is C160 Transall – not a G222.The Italians use these, as shown in the next pic.
Well,
I saw another veiw of Dans flight taken by the Blue Angles Video Operator, Dan had a good 25 feet above the ditch between the Runways. I talk with the BA vid guy and the FAA safty guy went over to Dan right after he landed and they had a Talk. They review the BA video. One thing that was discussed and TN you can verfie this was their was alot micro-shears from the West end of the runway. Even the Blues and Snowbirds were having some minor problems with it.
So I guess it was’nt Dan fault after-all. Yes Dan fly’s for a living he is a Senior Delta Capt. and yes I would put my life in his hands any day of the Year.
I’ve know Dan for almost 20 years, he was one of the first person to pay attention to me and my little old L-4 that I used to own. Plus he gave me some pointers on how to handle it in certain cross-wind landings.
People make mistakes I myself have been quity of trying to push it alittle to far or doing something dumb we learn and over-come.
Micro bursts or not – he was still too low entering the manouvere and 25 feet is still way too low to leave it !
