Well what can you say. Last year I enjoyed pretty much everything about the show, other than the chuffing great tent in the middle of the crowd line. Nice selection of aircraft last year and a nice intimate location.
Aircraft wise, obviously everybody knows I am a little biased here, but other than the obvious I personally like to see a varied display from WW1 through to the 50s. Not just military aircraft but classics such as the Staggerwing, Rearwin, Cub etc.
Could always be worth writing to the various car clubs to get their participation with their members attending at a reduced fee possibly, from a personal point of view I prefer classic cars to green lorries, but I am a little odd. Although a correctly armed green lorry could sort out the freebie punters along the roads.
I guess all in all from an enthusiasts point of view last years show was great, the BBQ certainly was, however there needs to be a way of attracting the local man in the street, maybe something like the Dead Sparrows could bring a few extra people in???

Terrible news, saw it first on Teletext but didn’t make the connection. Met Steve a few times and spoke through a number of PM’s about flying experiences and more recently his plan to go Chipmunk flying. A very bad day, raising a glass as I type.
I’d like to send my best to all of Steve’s family and friends.

Should this thread not be moved to General Discussion? I see no historic aircraft or offensive photographs in it…

Looks like Bob Warner’s aircraft G-BBHK. Last time I saw the aircraft it was based at Kemble, that was 18 months ago.
