Any idea when this was taken, and why she’s not up and about yet?
Those pics are very deceptive, taken during her one and only 30second engine run in 97/98 (time goes to quickly for me to tell exactly. Last time I saw the aircraft it was in a few more bits.
Mark, I think a lot of warbird owners don’t fly the beasts themselves. And wisely so.
People all too easily forget these machines were state-of-the-art hot rods when they first emerged over 60 years ago. In any case, they were definitely not designed to be Sunday afternoon leisure rides 🙂
Maybe bump into you there one day, I was at 5000 feet at 10.00 so slightly ahead of you, lovely and cool at that height. Maybe a forum fly in should be organised one day… Just a thought…
So it would seem that bolt croppers are in order for shows in the future just to get the chairs off the fence, some people are so sad it’s unreal, having to claim their own part of the flightline…. Pathetic.
