Id like to know what happened to the husband and wife team that was working on the victor?!
They seemed to leave shortly after the Victor was repainted last time. Last heard of involved with another Victor in the UK.
Trust you will be volunteering your services?
Thought not…
I have a feeling Mr Droptank may have enough to keep him occupied without getting involved with the Victor. Could be wrong though!!!!!!
Good grief the poor old thing looks worse than ever!!! I really hope it doesn’t go the same way as the Convair and the Varsity. I appreciate that there is limited covered space at Duxford and limited recources, but I feel this Victor deserves better treatment than it’s currently receiving.
Don’t rise to it Andrew, the gentleman concerned will soon get bored. There is room enough here for everyone to enjoy their hobby no matter what form it takes.
It looks to be in the grounds of a hotel so I would go with the former Aberporth machine myself, the latest FlyPast will tell you all you want to know, however I don’t have my copy on me.
Is this not normal when landing a Mustang then??? If you generally see one in the cruise at say 230mph, then you watch one in the pattern at 110mph yoy may well think it is at ‘half speed’.
From my point of view I always like to have wheels when I land, so don’t I grant you, but it helps if you intend to fly again in the near future.
Nice Stearman pic!! Do I spot G-LAZA in the distance in one of the pics?
any more G-SIJJ flew over the camp site today her undercarraige was sticky.
How could you tell it was sticky?????? Tell me more.
Looks like these are the first photos from a good day. I could not hang around for most of the flying so hope you didn’t catch any showers? was a very dodgy 20-25kt crosswind in the morning. One Cessna pilot must have had a ‘brown trouser’ moment on going round. One small thing the hangars were not open this year. My last visit(3 years ago) they were, just a dissapointment for us number crunchers. .
No brown trousers here, that was a run and break, just thought I’d do it with a bit of flap!!!!!
Ah so just before the Harvard departs then
Sounds like Kermit Week’s aircraft 45-11507 ex ZK-CCG & RNZAF2417
what time are they on?
Looks like I may be there for a little while tomorrow
Look I know it hasn’t stopped raining for weeks and weeks, but there really is no need for the aircraft to start shrinking!!!!
well clacton airshows been sacrificed
It has?????? Did anyone tell the participants??????
