Perhaps it would have looked better with a pilot figure in the cockpit

I think if I were in an aircraft which was about to spread itself across a carrier deck I would opt to get out of the thing and let it take it’s own chance of landing.

Looks an interesting museum, hopefully I can get there one day, however it may be a few years away yet.

It was Flying A that brought the Hellcat to North Weald, it spent the years after Doug passed away stored in America prior to being ferried to the UK.

Ah yes, but you’ll always get back home :p Besides surely by now the 172 knows it’s own way to Kent.

Does Airfields of the Eighth work outside East Anglia, the other issue with it is (apart from being big and heavy) is that it’s 26 years old and things have changed. I know what you’re saying though Damien, I do a similar thing 😉 I wonder if that will get me through my Nav Exam when the time comes

Map, what’s a map???? Does the 172 not know where it’s going? I thought *1 Enter Enter usually worked 😀

The Bent Waters displays were excellent this year

Other than that the practice displays at Woodchurch were truely excellent particularly the Mustangs and the Hunter display.

Watching Gary Numan displaying the Yak11 some years ago at Earls Colne was great, the aircraft and the pilot really brought out the best in one another.

My tastes these days have changed regarding airshows, I rarely go to Duxford and the like, instead I prefer the smaller more intimate airshows such as Woodchurch, Little Grandsden and Old Buckenham.

The Mustang is a work of art 😀 I prefer the term purposeful rather than aggressive

I think it may be time to get the tin hat out :p

I would have made a comment about Yak 11’s but I thought I was on pretty dodgy ground as it was, Digby will be informing my carers to increase my medication if I carry on.

Janie, was that Spitfire flight for me? If so you missed my birthday by a month, thanks for the thought though 😀

    Pah!!!!

The only thing that sounds and looks nicer than a T6 is a Mustang

I’d love to see the pics Steve, and talking about Yak 11’s in that way you will be very welcome 😀 Fantastic aircraft, recently termed a Warbird Pitts Special by somebody in the know 😉

Nice airfield Seething, went there for the first time this year for their display.

    High’s for this year are:

Getting to fly with and photograph 2 P51’s from the back of the 3rd.
Getting to know some great people
Enjoying a fantastic Summer of aviation

    Low’s:

Not many to be honest, the runway is still flyable 😀
