Dont think there is a runway at Greenham Common any more. The Grace Spitfire was last heard of at a former USAF base in East Anglia.

Pretty sure I saw that blue and yellow steerman in the maintenance hangar at Goodwood a couple of weeks ago. Heard its up for sale!

I promise you that will be a different Stearman.

I’d be extremely suprised. It was still in perfect flying condition with its owners in the UK a couple of weeks ago when I saw it.
Perhaps Yanks have a different L5?

Yep, fraid so, I followed the river up from Felixstowe and the skirted around the edge of Ipswich on my way back up to Norfolk, a very satisfying way to spend an hour on a Sunday afternoon.

Really? Late model production Sabres were putting out about 3,000hp

I’m sure it will look spectacular as it bursts into flames on a regular basis….
Why not just put in a very hot Merlin and keep the weight down, of course it will still be slower than a Mustang, but you can’t have everything in life….

I’ll leave it to you to tell the CAA and the owner that they dont have the aeroplane they thought they had….
