No, Eyetech is an engineering business in its own right.

I guess you need an amazing amount of drive and skill to build up a collection such as this.

If you count building the jigs, building the airframe, fitting out the airframe, painting the airframe, wiring the aircraft and building the engine then yes. This of course is after having restored another P51, a Harvard, Cessna 172 and building a Laser 200 and Skybolt etc……..
Oh…. and financing it all as well…..

There isnt a Mustang at Earls Colne, there used to be a Spitfire or 2. North Weald would be their nearest.

Already did!:)

Ah, so they did…. its been a long day.

How about a South American museum burnt after lamps used for filming set fire to some fabric, or a Sea Fury or two under restoation in the 80’s that were destroyed by fire.

Anyone want to mention Le Bourget? Quite a few airframes were lost in that fire.

Yes we are lucky but i like to see new and different things, thats the only way we can keep this industry up and runing

We all like to see new and different things, however it takes time restore an aircraft, it takes a lot of money to buy and operate these old aircraft, very few (if any) operators take their aircraft to an airshow like Duxford for free.

Out of a list of 30 aircraft only 6 possibly 7 aircraft are from TFC.

The only way for the industry to keep up and running is for genuine airshow enthusiasts to keep supporting events and not turning their back because there isn’t a brand new restoration booked for every show and for airshow organisers to book acts which appeal to the man in the street and his family.

I’m sure those people giving up their time and effort (not to mention money) to get aircraft ready for the display season will be over the moon with your comments.
