I would think that the FC-31 would make an excellent fleet defense fighter for the PLAN aircraft carriers should they ever go down that route given that the FC-31 has stealth and long range, plus the fact that it can carry six missiles in it’s internal weapon bays.
Size wise, it looks similar to the mig 29 kub.
…. :applause::applause:
I thought this jet would be generating more discussion.
The FC 31 is what some Americans really wanted the F 35 to be.
And the FC 31 is that dream of a stealth skinned Mig 29 that Russia has been wanting.
I know what you mean and it’s hard to disagree.. But let’s not lose the focus on the topic which is Syria.. It’s nice that the BBC is able to criticize its own govt and the RT isn’t
That is just bunk. RT has lots of interactive shows where the position against Russia is shared openly. Crosstalk and Worlds Apart are shows with guests that disagree with Russias view all the time.
This is a good primer for this discussion though. The Syrian war has become a media war like no other so I think its relevant.
i think its a whole lot more fruitful to look at relations between various competitors in the same competition,
like the brazil deal, to get apples to applesBase: gripen E 5.4 billion
F-18E 7.5 billion -39% more expensive
rafale 8.2 billion -52% more expensive
yes. But these arms deals are so complicated. US arms sales to the Gulf are usual contingent on the Gulf continuing to price oil in USD and use US treasuries as their main reserve medium. Its all priced in.
This military plane and they were using as civilian intensity. both China and Iran withdrew them from passenger service in the 90s after crashes. very bad record .
Wrong. This jet has a good record.
between 2:44-2:51, F-35 complete a 180 degrees loop, that equal to average turn rate of 25.7 dps
whats with the little flame-out , out of the engine there ?
And I’ll just say that this did look acceptable but then I went and watched some Mig 29 airshow clips.
just noticed this picture of 056, it seems they cheated us again ;), the yellow hatched area is not treated with RAM, I guess the whole spine is not as well. You can easily see there fasteners holding the composite skin. The thick layer of RAM is under the greyish-white looking top coat, but they seem to use several shades. Some are having a cyan tint, probably to distinguish where RAM has been applied. Have someone noticed it already?

I think you are reaching a bit here. I cant see it. (32 yo)
Some people are surmising some measurements on the landing gear and the space between the engines. Very similar to Mig 29 measurements. Makes sense because the 29 is a carrier ready chassis too.
There seem to be two sorts of people; those who are able to assess the reliability of news sources, and those who cannot. As this forum often demonstrates, we do not lack posters who fall into the second category.
I have been involved in open-source intelligence for several decades, and my normal practice is to take information from a wide range of sources, but to be aware of which sources are likely to be reliable, and which are not. So yes, I have to read stuff from propaganda outlets such as RT, FARS, and KCNA, and probably still have a few copies of the long-defunct ‘Soviet Military Review’ (which was once dubbed as being ‘designed by Smersh to kill by boredom’). But the signal-to-noise ratio from such ‘alternative sources’ is very high.
As for your claim that the BBC etc are “usually proven to be lying”, I have over the years been an occasional visitor to the news and current affairs studios of the BBC and other broadcasting organisations, but was always able to speak freely when being interviewed, and was never asked to take a specific ‘line’ or viewpoint.
I’ll just leave this here. I wasn’t aware of the extent of the use of total obfuscation and propaganda of western media like the BBC until the Syria war. And the coverage of Aleppo has brought it to a whole new level. The coverage of Aleppo in the last 2 weeks has been a blatant lie.
Try your links again and make up your mind about that.
When ISIS was right on Turkey’s border, they stood pat and did nothing. But as soon as the Kurds gained ground, Turkeys tanks rolled into Syria.
The same thing has happened with the US air force. They sit around with their eyes closed when ISIS is convoying around in open desert. But as soon as the Syrian army shows up, all of a sudden Raptors are in the air. And sometimes when they kill 70 Syrian soldiers and ISIS gains ground because of it, they say it was an “accident”
It is you that has to read that 1st link.
Yeah, he surely would have served the third term if it wasn’t for them forcing him out. BTW, who are they? Just want to see if we’re talking about the same ones.
It was a rhetorical statement. And I mean the mainstream media
Hindsight as like: just the same “mistakes” again & again after Iraq, Libya & what not?
Nic
Bush was chased out of office and threatened to be tried as a war criminal for going into Iraq. Now the same establishment is chasing Obama out of office and shaming his legacy because he did not go into Syria.
It used to have F-22 fins, now it has F-35 fins.
hahaha
In that civil war everyone from the opposition is labled terrorist and it works.
No. Russia does not deny that there was legit protests against Assad. But that was FIVE years ago. Clearly, it turned into a blatant proxy war with forign funded armies aggressing on the sovereignty of Syria. Only then, did Russia get involved.
The only opposition left is Islamist fighters funded by the Wahhabi dictators in the Gulf and trained by the US.
Nonsense claim. The ISIS know how to hide from US aircraft. The US aircraft had no ground support to verify who is moving there really and are in constant risc to attack the wrong ones, what did happen already. The local Syrian troops could ask for own CAS from the SAF and its Russian supporters every time. They had the radio-contact to pinpoint the CAS in demand.
Well it sure doesn’t take long for them to show up (with Raptors) when they feel that their direct interests are at stake.
