In your articles there is clearly some misinformation. First, RD-33 is at least twice as large in diameter as J85 and more than four times as heavy. There is no way, I repeat no way how to fit two RD-33 turbofans into the tiny F-5 nacelles. Not speaking about massively increased power – from 18 kN/22 kN to 50 kN/81.3 kN which the F-5 airframe cannot handle.

Second, the N019M is a big and heavy radar occupying volume several times exceeding the tiny pointy nose of F-5. The Cassegrain twist antenna of the N019 is much larger in diameter than the nose of F-5 and it is also too spacious to fit into F-5 radome.

That is pure BS, the N019ME doesnt have any air-to-ground capability at all!!!. It is only a slightly different version of the ancient N019 with newer radar processor and two targeting channels for support of the R-77 A-A missile.

N019ME has no synthetic ground mapping modes and no ground target acquisition at all.. Even the OLS installed on Iranian MiG-29s cannot target ground objects. So, what is here so *very effective*?
