Thanks Lancman, much appreciated.
I’m looking for some good close up pictures of Bluebird K7, can anyone suggest a good web site?
‘Common sense’ and ‘United States’? I don’t think so:)
Shouldn’t the thread now be renamed to …The Full Scale Mossie no longer on ebay?
Graham, which B&Q kitchen did you go for?
The Pyramids are worth a look 🙂
I went to school with a girl called Sharia Laws, certain she was ‘on the other bus’.
Unfortunately in this great country of ours the past is just that. The events of WW2, the people and places are of little interest to the majority. I was the resident telephone engineer at Bentley Priory during the early 1980’s, a fascinating place full of history and artefacts, shame the National Trust didn’t get involved.
You may remember the auction last year of the ‘wings’ once owned by Guy Gibson and allegedly presented to Barnes Wallis. Well I bought them and for what it’s worth I believe they are genuine (everything else in the auction was). It is easy on this forum to knock these auction houses and joke about where these things might have come from but while you are doing this there are some very genuine WW2/RAF items slipping away in to private hands. I have offered my ‘wings’ to the RAF museum at Hendon and they have been most interested in displaying them.
Keith, Great Pics, could you make them a little smaller?:)
I have the original Press Report from Headquarters Fighter Command advising that W/Cmdr Douglas Bader is missing from a recent daylight offensive over Northern France. I will post a pick when I get a minute. I have recently offered it to the RAF Museum at Hendon.
I’m (reluctantly) looking to part with two valuable signed prints if you are interested.
1. Augsburg Eagle by Michael Turner (388 0f 500), signed by Michael Turner and Adolg Galland.
2. Duel of Eagles by Robert Taylor to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, signed by Douglas Bader and Adolf Galland.
Nice site Martin and very interesting questions, shame I can’t seem to answer a single one!
Looking forward to the replies though.
Perhaps this one would be an easier option?
Hi Tom, what wood will you be using?
