Does anyone have any interior pictures of KB839?
Was is the colour scheme that the Lancaster displayed in Greenwood representing?
Thank Mike…she was unrestoration during my last visit..so I hope to return sometime soon also…
Very nice pictures Mike…did you get to see the Lancaster at Greenwood on that trip out East?
I might be hard to maintain that highly polished aluminum finish if she is outdoors..but if all goes well and she is put undercover..the polished finish would look great..many airframes are painted silver or aluminum to reduce the maint work…
Maybe it is because our limited Military budget required the use of aircraft well past their normal expected life…so many of our airframes still in service were already becoming classics…….our forces have the highest houred C-130 Herc in Military use over here…
D-ANAF cn 447 Lufthansa Training Aid used for apprentice training since Frankfurt 4.72 could also be an nice candidate for a taxible restoration….she might not have flown since 1970..but I think she has been under the care of Lufthansa…
And I was thinking a HS748 would also make a nice classic airliner restoration..First Air over here in Canada are slowing retiring their fleet of classic 748 in favor of the less expensive to operate ATR twins…so they have a number of airframes in store awaiting the scrapper….
I borrowed a pix from Airliner.net
Peter…
Those pictures are quite amazing..she is quite the time capsule…also glad to hear that she will remain in post war scheme…luv the red spinners…..had a chance to see her in person a few years back and she is a beauty…
Yes Mike..It seems that the RR dart came in many versions…..

With regards to keeping a Viscount airworthly in the UK…does the HS 748 use a similar RR engine to the Viscount? There must be quite a few 748 spares out there!
Perhaps the very last flying Viscount 3D-PFI ? Apparently previously operated by Transtel Togo. It was photographed flying Congolese troops from/to Beni Jan 15 2005…I found this on the Airliners net…Have not seen any other pictures taken of her since….
Does an airframe design have to have support from it’s designated design authority to gain a permit to flight in the UK or does the UK have an experimental class that allows flight?
Would a Viscount be allowed to fly in the skies in the UK? What was the reason they were all retired from British skies in the late 90’s…
3D-PFI cn170 is a flyer and could return one day to the UK??
Wetaskiwin had the following airframes MkI 652A, MkII 11567 and MkV 12477…
Could the Anson be one of these?
