It is quite amazing that we go to extreme lengths to salvage aircraft for deep water or from Russian bogs but we will allow valueble relics in our own backyards to rot…true it all comes down to money…
    🙁

Thanks for the pictures David..at least they have not been processed into pots and pans yet!!

    Very interesting pictures indeed..

When did the Lincoln get dissembled? Did the wings survive or was it only the fuselage that was kept?

Thanks guys for the valueable info. Great stuff.

I also try to avoid the sharpness fix as it is noticeable. But I will try to shoot in HQ and slowly reduce the picture size, rather than short with a smaller picture size.

I have been using the Minolta 7i Dimage..Pictures seem excellent upclose and macro but lose quite a bit if you shot for a distance..still I will continue to experiment.

    Shorty,

Your pictures look great. I have been trying to get good quality
images in the under 100k range but I find it quite the challenge.
I use a 5megapix Dig camera and it can produce a 100k picture but it suffers in the quality. It produces great high resolution stuff but I have to shot in economy mode and small picture size 640 x 480 to get something in the 100k area.. and it tends to produce less than great results..any hints as to producing some files with good quality..

    DC10 & DC 9

Looks like not good news for both.

DC-10 number 1 NA 101AA was seen being broken up Sept 2002 at Marana AZ

DC-9 number 1 was last seen Grayson Texas 1995. Some parts missing..to be broken up??

I guess Douglas Corp doesn’t quite have the same appeal as Boeing!!

The Lincoln Cockpit A73-27 survives in OZ.

It was acquired by Harold Thomas for his Camden Museum of Aviation

And I could have sworn I had heard a second one in Argentina also..but can’t remember where I read about it!

    Lincoln vs Lancaster

How similar are the two airframes? I know they have different engines.

Could you tell the two aparts? if they were in bare sections.

Say if you took off all the fittings..would a Lincoln and Lancaster
    cockpit fill the same dimensions?
