Yes I noticed that Rob did fly that way on Sat but at Rockcliffe on Sunday I think he landed with it with it closed….

Great pictures Dave…
I don’t quite have the lens to pull of those kinda pictures but I did capture a few nice pictures of the day…
An excellent open house…
Andrew…
Great pictures Peter…always nice to the CWHM jets nicely lined up for a model photo shot….
Is the Cockpit picture taken from the CF100 Mk5?
And did you get a chance to peak inside their Voodoo yet?
Cheers,
Andrew
I always look forward to the opportunity to viewing the cockpit in any aircraft these days and I am always respectfull of someone else property….
CAvM in Ottawa used to have open Cockpits on a number of aircraft on Canada Day July 1st but their policy has sinced changed and all historical aircraft cockpits are closed to the public. I think damage was becoming an issue on a number of the open cockpits so I can understand their concerns..
However The Project NorthStar at CAvM was open to the public recently as part of the Vintage Air Rally event and for a voluntery donation they would take you aboard their Canadair North Star. A great way to raise funds for their restoration and a great chance for folks like me to see the deck of the ‘Star”…which as you can see is a work in progess…:)

The CF100 has been moved to the out of bounds area behind the museum and one of the volunteers seemed to indicate that it is their’s to put back together eventually…
But I was wondering that it might be traded for something else just like they did with their spare Kiowa that went to TAM last year…but this CF100 is quite complete…engines are there…
They have a spare Tbird 133593 also in store behind the museum….more trades?
Andrew
Peter,
And I had heard that the wooden plywood floors are abit fragile/soft in the Argus now and that one recent visitors in the aircraft might have put a foot thru the floor..opps…but that could have been just a rumor 😮
Andrew
This new expansion area is still a weeks away for being open to the public so I did not take a peek yet:) but I was quite tempted…
Peter..I am thinking I would needed a pretty large step ladder to take pictures of the Voodoo interior…that baby is pretty tall….and I think the Voodoo is the probably the one that needs some TLC with regards to paint…like many outdoor Voodoos the paint is peeling around the access panels…
According to the lads in the restoration shop….both the Harvard and Anson were very rough when they arrived…all the wood is being replaced on the Anson..and new spars were being put together in the shop…I did not know that they (the spars) were wood laminate also…very nice quality restorations for static displays..
One last picture of one of my favs…just wish I could have a look inside this example… The Argus
Andrew
And few project are in the wings….
Helicopters are well represented..
Tutor is still looking very shiny…
And apparently a C-130, Buffalo and Hornet are due to the museum soon….
All in all a great day…
Enjoy….
Andrew
The Mig 21 looks very fresh after being offsite for a number of years 🙂
The Tracker is looking quite complete. Just needs abit of paint to complete the job.
All Jets are still looking in pretty nice shape.
CT-133 # 21435 got some TLC from local auto detailer.. 🙂
Alas RAG’s Hurricane remained on guard duty while their others danced in the skies above Niagara Falls…
Somebody has to guard the fort;)

Great pics Dave…
Yes the Hamilton Airshows were great….The CWH Corsair was a very popular feature of that event…
Just thought I would add a few more…in flight also…
DH Tiger Moth was in training mode and Harvard Assoc were doing there thing also….
What aircraft were taking parts in the engine runs at Brooklands on Sat?..nice to see the Vickers Merchantman up and running very nicely…
Andrew
Yes it was a beautiful day indeedy at the Gatineau Airport. Quite a few fly-in visitors added to the event.
Beech D18C and Fairy Firefly (luv the sound of that RR Griffon) were bought in from CHWM. 🙂
And the Corsair was flown twice on Saturday (while I was there). Quite a treat for those that waited.
Andrew
It was listed as belonging to CFSATE Borden. It was quite an active Snowbird from 1977-1987 thus quite a significant airframe.
Perhaps the tail support is ensure nothing drops off…:D
