Hi Ian – super shots mate! Feeling some more on a.net me thinks…
Did you get any shots of Gulfstream 2 N671LW at LHR? It departed around 7ish to Keflavik and arrived earlier in the afternoon.
Was going to head down there for it, but got stuck in traffic jams on the M25 so headed home. Looks like I missed out again…
Cheers,
Alex
WOW – carrier shots. They’re superb!
Have you seen?

I was in the grandstand on sat 14 July, Camera Canon 20d lens 100-400 IS
with a polarizer filter on the lens.
Phil.
Cheers for that – I was on step ladders infront of the grandstand which explains it. All shots of super quality!
Great shots Sam! Long exposure night shots look really artistic. Especially like the ramp shot. Just wondering how slow the shutter speed was?
MTIA,
Alex
Hi Phil, Great shots! What camera/lenses were you using? Think you must have been standing right next to me on Saturday…
Love this angle, and stunning shots! You’ve got to have so much patients…
Super pics! Those shots of frankie pulling up are really sharp and crisp.
just about here:
Great shot of the USN C-37 376! I actually shot N900LA departing LTN for GLA the previous week: http://alexpeake.fotopic.net/p42953815.html
as usual – superb quality and great shots!
I got a few head-on thunderbird shots, but missed every red arrow pass. Was bursting at 3fps but still missed it.
One guy standing next to me had a 1D MK3 and it sounded like canon fire.
Loving the after burner typhoon shot! Please keep them coming…
Thanks Martin & Richard! As always, comments and criticism is much appreciated.
Would be great to meet up with as many ppl as pos next year.
Hi Dean,
Really like that fire shot!
There is a program called ‘Neat Image’ which would get rid of some of that grain. Here’s the link for the free download: http://www.neatimage.com/download.html
Good luck, and hope my post doesn’t set off an argument or offend anyone. That RIAT Arrivals thread got way out of hand, and got blown totally out of proportion.
Cheers,
Alex
Great shots mate! Really like pic 8 & 9! I was too far down the r/w for decent fighter jet t/o’s and landings.
Cheers Josh! Yeah thats exactly where I went.
I had a blue t-shirt on with a brown cap. Just in front of me was a guy with a massive Nikon lens, plus a few foreign people to the right with 300mm 2.8 lenses.
Were you sharing a stepladder with someone? If so, I think it could have been you. Took a few shots of the crowd, so I’ll dig them out.
