Hi Ian – super shots mate! Feeling some more on a.net me thinks…

Did you get any shots of Gulfstream 2 N671LW at LHR? It departed around 7ish to Keflavik and arrived earlier in the afternoon.

Was going to head down there for it, but got stuck in traffic jams on the M25 so headed home. Looks like I missed out again…

I was in the grandstand on sat 14 July, Camera Canon 20d lens 100-400 IS
with a polarizer filter on the lens.

Cheers for that – I was on step ladders infront of the grandstand which explains it. All shots of super quality!

Great shots Sam! Long exposure night shots look really artistic. Especially like the ramp shot. Just wondering how slow the shutter speed was?

as usual – superb quality and great shots!

I got a few head-on thunderbird shots, but missed every red arrow pass. Was bursting at 3fps but still missed it.

One guy standing next to me had a 1D MK3 and it sounded like canon fire.

Good luck, and hope my post doesn’t set off an argument or offend anyone. That RIAT Arrivals thread got way out of hand, and got blown totally out of proportion.

Cheers Josh! Yeah thats exactly where I went.

I had a blue t-shirt on with a brown cap. Just in front of me was a guy with a massive Nikon lens, plus a few foreign people to the right with 300mm 2.8 lenses.

Were you sharing a stepladder with someone? If so, I think it could have been you. Took a few shots of the crowd, so I’ll dig them out.
