    YES….it is THE John Fairey of Fairey Aviation fame(among others the FD2,Swordfish,Firefly,Rotodyne and Flycatcher…JF built and flew the replica Flycatcher currently at FAA Museum,Yeovilton)

    hi there, sorry to butt in to your forum but i stumbled upon this post durring an ‘ up all night can’t sleep’ random net surf.
    and it pleased me somewhat immensely to hear that mr Fairey is still an active pilot,
    bringing back memorys of my youth happily watching him fly his various aircraft over our village on lazy summer afternoons .
    the one that springs vividly to mind is watching an aircraft tumbling out of a clear blue sky over the golden wheat feild at the back of our house,
    i asked my dad what type of plane it was , he replied- ‘ thats john Fairey in his spitfire’ i’m sure it was painted yellow , and sound of the engine was truely ammazeing ,
    later, when i started working , i had the opportunity to look into the workshops where a small aircraft was under construction, i think it must have been the flycatcher.

    plz forgive me, i know little of aviation , but thanx for resurecting these happy memorys.
