Re
Hi everyone,
Well, I think Cees has said it all for me. I will add to it. A squadron of Whitley’s lined up at Abingdon along side the once grass runway. Merlins ready for action! I’d love to donate $100.000 Canadian to completely restore the Hampden in Langley, British Columbia. Since it’s short two real engines. (Fiberglass just doesn’t cut it!). I could go on…
Cheers,
Todd
Hi Nils,
I have all of the Bomber Command Losses books except 1944. You’ve made things easier for me. I have a photo(somewhere) of a Whitley reported to be just off shore of Kiel.
Thanks,
Todd
🙂

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the link! I check this website out quite often. The fellow that runs it is really nice. He offered to take me to Abingdon and Stanton Harcourt when I was over in the U.K in May. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the time.
I made the BBC instead. 🙂
Cheers,
Todd
Pathfinder,
I enjoyed your website.Do you have records of a Whitley crash just off shore of Kiel 1940-41?
Cheers,
Todd
Oh I think I’ll have to make the two hour drive to Seattle. All those photo’s have made me salivate!
Thanks for the teasers Mike!
Cheers,
Todd
Re:
Wow! Thanks for the quick responses everyone. I’m fairly new to sims and my Uncle flew out of Abingdon during WW2. Just thought I’d see things from his perspective. I’ll check out the links ASAP. 🙂
Cheers,
Todd 🙂
Finally! A wreck that I could possibly visit! 🙂
Nice pics Peter. Did anyone from this machine survive? I don’t have the Lancaster Files.
Cheers,
Todd
Elliott,
I’ll see if I can get a hold of her through a friend of mine in Llanidloes.
She came to my Uncle’s crash site in May.(Pretty sure it’s the same Phillipa)

Todd
I always did love the Phantom! Nice pics.

Papa Lima,
You really did the GRAND tour! Nice photo’s.There was a proposal for a new site for the museum in Langley. I hope it goes through, I hate to see the Hampden out in the rainey weather 6 months out of the year.
Cheers,
Todd
P.S – I haven’t made it out to Hooters to see if your photo is on the wall. I will soon. I’ll give my regards to all the nice ladies for you. 🙂
Re:
That is sad news. I just finished reading “The Whitley Boy’s”. I enjoyed the book immensely.

Hi Elliott,
I thought maybe he had. I tried to email you awhile back. He had an oil tank from my Uncles Whitley wreckage. I heard it was for sale at an Aerojumble over your way. Did you come across it by any chance? I can’t think of a better place for it to go. It’s a good thing I came over when I did last year…
Nice to hear from you!
Todd
Cees,
They’ve done a pretty bang up job on the Hampden here in British Columbia. Considering it was an absolute wreck after they pulled it from Patricia Bay. I had a good look at the airframe not to long ago and it looked fairly straight forward. The Whitley on the otherhand…There’s a question for Elliott! Are there complete drawings for the Whitley????
Cheers,
Todd
Paul,
BEAUTIFUL! MORE MORE!!!
