Hey as a part time ish worker in the auto industry I’ll openly admit that like all big businesses, the car industry in the 60 and 70 was all union labour and full of socialistson stike all the time – really bad. but today were all driving round in 25, 30 and 35 mpg cars – compared to your the 10 mpg masterpieces known as SUVs

Israeli democracy- give me a break. Hell democracy is one big joke. Where you have proper democracy e.g. Israel and mainland Europe – you end with loads of small parties that form pointless inept coalitions. in the UK and states where we have doggy not proper democracy (first past the post) the correlation between seats and votes is way off and the wrong people end up in office.

Democracy as a whole has failed to work in “new” countries and has only worked where the vote has been extended gradually to the masses

If we sort these bunch of idiots out they don’t have the excuse – the Arabs will then realise what idiotic rulers they have and make their own democracy (see democratic side of Iran)

Gulf war had no urban fighting – actually I think the victory will be the easy part but the American aversion to casualties may be a problem. the peace is the real problem………….. }> (see Macarthur comment)

Bush appears to many as a megalomaniac – I can actually see where a lot of these “megalomaniac” states are coming from. Mutually Assured Destruction stops interfering busy bodies from getting involved

Its not fair play but its inevitable that wmd’s will spread

mc Arthur was a product of American colonialism (Philippians) and did a bloody good job of running and rebuilding Japan post war to what the people of 1945 wanted (a democratic pacifist state) – only problem was by the time he was done 1950 ish they now wanted a anti commie state, no socialist unions and a military to stop Russia. you Americans should be proud of what he did there
