Based on the systems that the Russians field TODAY compared to the very little known Chinese systems in field service today.. Avionics is not only RADAR/ONBOARD COMPUTERS/FBW/HUD/HMD etc etc..

Chinese scientists/engineers may have betterd the performance in some areas.. but there is some way to go..

With all due respects to the maturing Chinese industry.. I would still say that it’s behind the Russians even in the avionics field..

MKI from HAL costs about 44-45 M$ .. ask Harry.. or Rishi at BR… 21-22 is the projected figure for LCA when it enters service.. which I think is a bit less then it would be at the time..

Puff.. let me phrase it for you in one word..

    GEOPOLITICS

IAF knew exactly what it wanted and why it wanted.. and this opportunity has been dwarfed by the GOI to play some nifty GEOPOLITICS in the early 21’st century.. this is just the beginning you will see what we are going to hear in the next 2-3 years.. as far as how will it impact IAF.. I think that is the last question right now in the GOI’s babu’s mind..

France/US ….. nuke deal.. outsourcing of some critical systems/subsystems.. Airbus/Boeing etc.. etc… Kaveri deal..
Russia ….. joint development on more platforms..
    UK ….. I donno..

Everything is connected.. as far as platforms are concerned.. no matter how good or bad they are.. most of the times they are selected by the politicians and not the forces by themselves in there entirety..

HAL HAS the capability to produce more.. What’s stopping it, is the IAF’s capability to absorb that many number of planes..

Would they be able to increase the speeds without affecting the fuel efficiency in future for the replacement aircrafts like 320/737 etc..

Is there a technically availaible viable solution for this?

Blackcat/Wanshan.. for the a-190e.. let’s look at the need for such a capability for the eastern naval command. They have other high priority requirements and the need for a better gun may be not high enough on the priority list. The ENC is woefully short in force capability/projection compared to the WNC.

Besides we have to strengthen our capability in the andaman regions.

Matt.. By short and intense wars we can say the HIGH INTENSITY war would last for around 3-7 days MAX.. post that it would be HOLDING POSITIONS..

in the high intensity round you would see a lot knife fights.. lot of blood and this is where the swift/concealed/concentrated/deep actions would come in play..
