Very nice pics, especially that Egyptair. That Kallita livery looks dreadful:(
A nice clutch of images there Keith….especially the u know what;) Glad you survived your visit to ‘Hazard County’ intact.
Some years ago at STN we used to handle a 707F in a similar livery to that last image:D:D
Glad to see they’re both alive and well!:)
That EZY livery looks a little, and I emphasise little, better on the 757. And well done Keith in what looks like awful weather:)
I totally agree. Hopefully the Sukhoi Superjet will be a sign of things to come from the Russian/CIS civil aviation industry. But I fear they will all look as generic as the present ‘western’ designs.:(
Look forward to them! Very nice images.
Aw Keith, what can I say? I’m suffering ‘beautiful aircraft overload syndrome’ and its great!:D Thanks pal for those shots……..now lets have another look…
Yes, remember the Maersk 720’s and 737’s. Can’t remember which night was “Yugoslav” night but remember JAT, Aviogenex etc too!
Well acording to my ‘sacred diaries’ we used to see JAT on Sat afternoons at around 1230z and it was usually a DC9-30, although on a couple of visits we were treated to a 727-200. Back in those 80s we had a 6 week period of two AN12s, namely YU-AIC and AID, visiting with two flights each day on Tue and Thu, uplifting ordinance. These flights carried JU flight numbers but had military crews and did not carry JAT insignia. JAT would occasionally operate a cargo charter via STN with 707s. Aviogenex used to pop in every Sat afternoon with 727-200s, sometimes 2 at once! one to Split and the other to Pula The 134s used to seem to appear for a while at the beginning and end of the season although I do have logged a Friday night operation with the 134s but sadly I have not recorded the destination. Well thats bored u all to death so I’ll leave it there:) Oh and don’t even get me started on the Spantax Coronados!!
Ahhhh….. bizjets. 😀
Yes indeed! Keith, u know what I’m going to say:):):) Love that Gulf…beauty on wings!
Peter, thanks for yet another batch of stunning images. Leaving aside all the ‘western twin podded dross’;) How can anyone not appreciate, and in my case admire, the beautiful lines of those Tupolevs, especially the Tu134As?:) Great pics.
Where’s the Busy Bee 737 to finish it off?:D
I had forgotten about them. Theirs was the only 737 (LN-NPB) that I had ever seen with integral stairs located at the aft pax door. Braathens SAFE was another big operator at STN. I had a one way trip on their 767-200 with the return sector on a Transwede Caravelle. Going thru my T/O ‘logs’ there was also Maersk, initially for me with 720s and then 737-200s, I think that one or two of the Conair 720s migrated from Maersk to them. I’ve got Sterling DC8-63s logged as well as Nor-Fly and Partnair CV twins and Scanair DC10s. I guess I should have collected regns but I never did……where’s me hanky……:(
Aw what a trip down memory lane! I used to work as a Traffic Officer for Servisair at this time and on checking my old logs I have ramped all of those pictured and had staff travel rides on all as well as a Linjeflyg F28 but not the Sterling 727. Most of these guys did 2 round trips per Sunday so it was possible to do an ‘out and back’ I was usually allowed to be on the flightdeck for these trips as were my colleagues, as we all did these trips when we could. All brilliant crews especially the Conair guys. That Scanair DC8 was the actual a/c I had to work in my SAS load control examination. My favourites? well it has to be the Sterling Caravelles. Thanks so much civilspotter for posting these images:):):)
F-WWTG / CS-TQP the last of the original Kingfisher A345s has been leased by HiFly to ……. wait for it ………
Air Zimbabwe !
She has been ferried to HAM for paint into UM colors. Should look awesome when she’s out of the paint shop.
A second (most likely another ex-IT) A345 is scheduled to be leased by HiFly to them in Oct.
Awesome she may well look and I’m sure she will but surely there are better business partners out there for the likes of HiFly or anyone else.:(
Gets my vote. Very nice:) I presume we’ll see this on the A350.
