Fantastic, and some sad images. Seeing those 62s is enough to make you weep:(………..well it does me;) Again, great shots.
Keith, that F70 is a great ‘action’ shot and that Falcon looks beautiful! Therefore I shall forgive you the absence of a Gulf;);)
Great shots rab. Look forward to the next ones!
Stunning pics C9, especially that THY 777.
Great images Rob. More anytime please!:)
Peter, stunning images once again! Many thanks for the IL62M, she is a beast and no mistake! Am I biased?….well yes I am without apology;) Those 134 shots illustrate to me one of the most beautiful twin jets ever made along with the Caravelle. Those ‘modern’ Tupolevs alas, leave me stone cold.
Anymouse. Many thanks for taking the time to post that very interesting information here. I’m pretty sure that some years ago I took an inter island flight in the Canaries on one of these. I think it was operated by Aviaco? If anyone has any idea on the likely operator I’d be pleased to know.
Kudos to Capt. Fisher. Sadly however, and it grieves me to say it, he is every bean counter and shareholders dream. 🙁
Had a similar take off to that on a JAT DC9 out of LHR . I don’t know which was more unnerving, the sudden and very noticeable increase in engine noise, and I was in the fwd part of the cabin, the lightening or the spectacle and sound of a pregnant woman nearby slamming the window with her hands and elbow shouting and screaming….did a lot to cheer up fellow nervous fliers. This resulted in a couple of the cabin crew leaving their jump seats very early in the climb out to try to calm/restrain her. The rotten thing was that the weather was just the b****y same in DBV
Yawn……………………;)
Aircraft is ATR 42, c/n 371, YV1010.:(
Now reported that there are 13 fatalities.
Interesting that on the CNN page the hotel clerk witness seems to be saying there may have been a problem before the aircraft made contact with the power lines. Still, speculation is easy. Condolences to the victims and families:(
A memory that I will treasure for the rest of my days will be my trip LHR-DXB-LHR earlier this year on this beautiful craft.:)
Absolutely! It was a great trip! And so far you’ve only seen half of my catch!
It’s gonna get better as well. A day later I was in the final approach, and saw a Rossiya IL62 in the final approach. It did two approaches actually, must have been a training flight.
Those shots will follow in a day or two. First I am gonna do the Domodedovo air-side photos (lot’s of stored Ilyushins). Then two threads for Vnukovo landside and Domodedovo landside.
i really look forward to seeing them. I always remember when I was working a Cubana IL62M as a T/O seeing it deploy the reverse thrust ‘buckets’ as it crossed the threshold with the nose dropping sharply as a result.
channel 4 have dicided to spend the budget on drama instead – the reason you are getting this is england 86 presently !!
and whatever they have in the pipeline later
posibly a return to the channels early days when it produced some superb gritty dramas !!
We can but hope………….
