You’ll certainly not find this individual claiming what a wonderful record on human rights the UK has, and neither did I allude to that in my post. I do not have an issue with any of the points that you raise. The thread that roadracer posted states ‘No depths these boys won’t plumb…..’ and I don’t think that there are. IMO the UKs record on human rights as well as those of other countries merits a thread all its own.

Just a load of attention seeking and deluded individuals. I used to see them all the time when my friends and I were on the Anti-Nazi League marches in the 70s/early 80s. You have to feel sorry for them…………actually, no you don’t. I wonder if they stopped off in North Korea on their way home to congratulate their regime and its marvellous record on human rights and its outlook on other countries and the people who live in them.

I’m sure the R-R chaps will have it sorted soon.

Agreed. I don’t think this particularly newsworthy in the grand scheme of aero engine manufacture.

Thats a scary bunch of images Keith. I wonder what the problem was. He looked a gonner. Gives an outward appearance of being overloaded or an RPM problem……just a theory.

Great pics bringing on an attack of nostalgia for me. I worked alongside Air UK as a Traffic Officer for around 10yrs at STN, mainly F27s, SD330s/360s and for a short while an F28. Great crews (and great parties). We had some not always flattering nicknames for the 27s based on the regn. I still have my Cabin bag, Blue Mug and cased Air UK Parker pen, sad or what? I wonder if I knew your friend! :)……must go, they’re calling the UK160 STN to AMS!

Agreed, but I wonder with the poor financial state of the BAA just how much real room for manoeuvre they realistically have in this.

I flew with them shortly after they started A330 operations into the UK. I found the cabin crew, mainly French Canadian, very good with catering standards to match. I found The legroom was good too and the aircraft clean and spacious There is Club Class which I understand you can upgrade to, but I didn’t do so and found the legroom in the standard cabin just fine.. Well thats all I can tell you really, hope it helps and that you have a good trip:)

hey come on i work in the ILS (integrated logistic support) world for BAE and every one knows most faults either occur very early in a items life or very late

I agree with that. The learning curve goes on.

IMO, a very poor show from a major EU flag carrier! Your average fare paying passenger is not interested in airline balance sheets, cabin refurbishment schedules and wether or not an aircraft is ‘tired’. These circumstances should not be an excuse for expecting a passenger to sit and look at this rubbish for in excess of 10 hours. The many flights that I took with Soviet and east european carriers, and believe me there were many, never exhibited cabins looking as grotty as that. If I were KLM I would be kicking AFs a**e and get them to ensure the cabin standards improve and match those of the Dutch partner. We are after all talking about a major flag carrier operating a fairly prestigious, long haul route which should feature an aircraft of an appropriate standard and able to ensure the very best for the customer, as enjoyed by myself recently with Emirates. To many these images may seem trivial, but in a ‘front of house’ situation, its poor. Having in the last few weeks flown a long haul sector with LH which was also operated by a 747-400, IMO there is no contest and no excuse.
