I have to agree with you martin. I worked for many years in close proximity to Ryanair and its staff and I did not envy them one bit. Its very easy to be blinkered by propaganda in this scenario. Anyone who thinks that Ryanair is an airborne miracle should talk to the staff and crews, but I do realise that if you are outside the industry thats not always possible.

There are some sick minds out there. The disruption to the operations schedule for Olympic must be a nightmare.

Many thanks for the replies! WD-the the aircraft on the left is an IL62M whereas the other one is a standard and older IL62, the easiest way to tell the two apart is the engine nacelles…the 62M has different engines and “bucket type” thrust reversers, the 62 has older design “cascade types”. Apologies to all who may already know this. Hans-yes those cards were available at SXF in the terminal shop long after the demise of IF, luckily I have friends in Germany who still seem to be finding them at German “flea markets” and passing them on to me. Airline owner-your German is better than mine!

Danke!!
Danke!!
I’d agree with that Matthew. It won’t be an easy task. They seem more of a basket case than Olympic was, although many of the problems appear to be similar.

Yup, Majestic it is and the Cubans still fly them, but rarely to Europe now. As they have been repainted in the new colours I guess they will be flying them for a while longer. When we ramped the first one to visit STN we all got a Cubana coffee mug given to us and I still have it. After struggling with their challenging loadsheet that day I felt that I had earned mine.
Thanks Andrew…and likewise.
