Nicely put purser…Thank You.
IF62M. Age 45. Presently enjoying a 22 year aviation career!
At Air UK we had our first ALL female crewed flight in the summer of 1986. A Shorts 360 operating STN-BRU. We had many female flight deck crew at that time. I seem to remember that staff from one of the national papers did travel on that 360.
Nice pics….The Aramco DC8 is a customer at the exec handling co where I work. As said, a little better than a Gulfstream, but I do like those too.
Itar-Tass agency reports a TU-154M making an emergency landing at Pulkovo Friday due to an on board fire warning…Same incident??
Come on BAA..wise up! The last place any terrorist is going to launch anything from is a spectators terrace thronging with Joe Public and all the eyes and cameras therewith. Give us back the rooftop!!!!!
Good news for Airbus.
With you all the way on this one Wys. I have to say that all this squabbling has meant that I’ve paid fewer visits recently and anything that might minimise the problem is welcome.
I did the turnround on one of these lovely machines some time back at STN, it was operated on that day by Air Foyle in place of an expected AN124. The inside reminded me of a submarine, as the cargo deck is not pressurised there are a number of pressure bulkhead doors throughout the aircraft. Entry was via a door on the port side undercarriage blister. She brought STN to a virtual standstill on the morning of dep….the sight and sound was something else. The aircraft was originally designed to carry the giant Soviet SS20 missile in one piece so had a very specific task to perform. All were built for the Soviet Air Force and operated by their crews, some were painted in Aeroflot colours to ease operations around the globe. As far as I know Aeroflot never owned any of them in the true sense, prior to the end of the Soviet Union.
From what I’ve read over the past few months it might be unfair to pummel the poor Boeing salesman too much. I think the problems are much further up the ladder. Great news for Airbus though!
Thanx Andrew………………
MINIDOH, I do live in England as a matter of fact, hence my location indicated as EU Tier2…accurate I think. I too am proud to be English and I am as proud to be part of the EU also. Rather that than our current role of some subservient satellite of the US.
The by pass that I mentioned is about 15kms from my home and is well appreciated by those who use it. I understand that its one of mant thousands of projects nationwide to have BENIFITTED from the European Union. I still firmly believe that without the EU
the UK has a very difficult and uncertain future. You and our lovely press may be content to see the UK become some novelty item off the north-west coast of continental Europe where tourists come to experience “changing currency” and gorping at Red clad soldiers tramping around “Buck House” but I’d like a bit more for this country than that.

I think thats it true to say that the current lamentable state of the UK transport system is not all the fault of the present regime
in London. Although its done very little it seems to reverse the ravages of privatisation presented to us by the fun loving free market Stalinists of the Thatcher era. On a recent visit to Hungary it was amazing to see the benefits of a truly integrated transport system, buses arriving at plentiful rail stations to connect with the arriving and departing trains…no waiting around, thought I’d died and gone to public transport heaven. The busses, trams and trains all spotlessly clean, cheap fares..result? All well used and popular with the public and STATE OWNED!!! Ooops dirty words!

Geforce….I’m with you on this one. The sooner this constitution is in place and operating the better. And if in the process we can move this European thing into higher gear then thats cool with me too. Sick to death of hearing all the anti EU rhetoric although I think that alot of that is due the regime in London doing a very poor job of informing us of the functions of the EU and the things that it has done for the country. I live not very far from a much needed by-pass that was part funded by an EU grant…Nasty ‘ol Brussels!!
