I’d heard that LH is just rolling over the 340 fleet to newer versions-thats all.
As Kabir says, Avianca is an old name…….pity it will not be the last to go thru this painful process.
Nice one Andrew……The door at the back by the engine intake is purely an emergency exit. On the Balkan Airlines 154s that I used to ramp this was sometimes blocked by unsecured bar boxes just left on the floor!
A Court Line A340 would be great as would a 747-400 in the old blue and gold BOAC speedbird colours. An A321 in the BEA red square livery and finally an A340-600 in Caledonian.
Nice one Ren, If you had not said anything I would have seen this as one of the travel agent models that I collect. The old BEA Red Square livery looked good on anything. I have a Comet4B in the same livery, I think its in 1/50 scale.
Nice pic Kabir! But sorry, I don’t like the type much. With regard to the c/s time for an upgrade I think.
Thanks Andrew…Option 1 please. Very nice, puts across a very clean and efficient impression.
Well, what can u say?!! All the bleating in the world won’t stop these designers with brains turning to mush pelting us with more daft liveries……Vote with your feet or butts!…Don’t fly em!
Nice one Comet……could’nt have put it better myself. Message to Ryanair…remember Air Florida!
A beautiful aircraft in a beautiful setting!
Saab……..here here to that! I guess that I am becoming an “avio-dinosaur” in my old age, but as EGNM says it will be around a while yet.
I’m not interested in the political overtones of the “old” Aeroflot logo but as a long time enthusiast of Soviet/Eastern Bloc airlines and aircraft, for me personally its the closing of an era. I don’t criticise that-just saying farewell to it and posting the image-Enjoy!
Andrew, Sadly the model isnt mine, it belongs to a friend. It is made by the company A.M.I Phelps and I am told there are only two in existance, Mr Branson has the other one! It is made of fibreglass and is in 1/100 scale. I have an A3XX in the same colours and scale made by the same artist, again it was one of two and I’m told that Mr.B. has the other one. A.M.I Phelps is the preferred model supplier to Airbus Industrie. When I visited their premises about 18 months ago they were putting the finishing touches to a 1/25 A380-massive!
I know its only a model, but it gives an idea how great a Virgin Concorde would look!
Goodbye old friend………The spottings been fun!
