That is a fascinating link. The Motorola ‘walkie talkie’ in that pic, looks identical to the units that we were using back then. Thankfully I was a traffic officer with our company at the time, and was not involved in actually loading cargo onto the aircraft, but I did once leave my radio on the flight deck of an SAS/Scanair DC8-63, operating a charter flight to Stockholm Arlanda from Stansted. I seem to remember that it came back later the same day on one of their DC9-40s. This earnt me a disciplinary from my D/O, quite rightly I guess. However, I don’t hold the record for the most travelled radio, during the time that I worked there. That accolade went to one of our seasonal traffic officers, who unintentionally sent his radio Stateside, courtesy of a CL44, operated I think by either AEI, or Aer Turas, we handled both at the time. I think that the radio made its return, a few days later……..Ah, happy days:)
Like a great many so called ‘celebs’ she’s just another waste of fur:rolleyes:

Some interesting shots. It looks like an example of the Mil Mi1 in pic 11. Not a common machine
Some nice shots. A bit of a long haul from Zagreb to Amsterdam on a Q400 I would have thought.
Very nice Keith. I think that Polet’s livery is the nicest on the 124.
I have a large collection of pre- recorded aviation videos. A few, but not many, have surfaced on DVD, and fewer still on Blu Ray. So my dear old Sony VHS recorder is still a prized piece of machinery. I don’t record on it any more however. Having read the posts here, I am seriously contemplating shifting these videos to an alternative format.

Megabucks Jim?
It’s a tidy sum, but I am not sure I count £65,738 pa as exactly in the pop-star / chavballer bracket.
Moggy
I think you’d find that a nurse would, but then most of them see their job as a vocation.
Edgar, beautifully put. I would fight tooth and nail to resist the idea of compelling people to attend and vote at a polling station. Police Stations, Prisons, Jails, and Courts etc, are the only places, that anyone should be compelled to attend, on the basis of having being accused of, or having been found guilty of, commiting a crime. Refusing to exersise your right to vote, is also a right in itself, and as such, the choice over using it, must be left to the individual. Compulsory voting/attending polling stations, has no place in a truly democratic society. Even MPs in Parliament, have the right to abstain in a vote, and attending the House at all, is only compulsory, due to it being an integral part of the career that they have freely decided to pursue. Compulsion is not the way to go here.

Despite the weather, some good pics. Great to see the Egyptair, and in the old ‘blue tail’ colours as well!:)
Great pics. That must be a fascinating place visit. The Tu114 is a mean looking machine. It must have been quite an experience to fly on one.
Always a good selection at Norwich, nice pics.
Some very nice pics. Your comment ref the status of the passengers travelling on those jets, brought to mind a lyric from a 70s track called ‘Airport’ I seem to remember it went something like ‘Airport, you’ve got a smiling face, but you took my lover to another place’ or something to that effect. During the part of my aviation career that I spent in passenger services, there were often displays of great happiness, sometimes real sadness, stress, but also excitement. ‘Airports, all human life is here’ and in my experience, it was.
At least they weren’t ‘taking the Mick’
