Some very nice shots, wish my garden was that close;) I’m about 8 miles as the crow flies from STN. Everything does fly overhead at around four thousand ft, I’m sure that sometimes its a little less. Those -800s have a very distinct sound.

The ‘modern’ Labour Party is a waste of space, The Lib Dems a waste of skin, The Tories…….well, they’re a waste of both, so where to from here?

You must respect the views of the liberals, even though they don’t respect your’s, or else they’ll give you personal abuse. Forget about giving personal abuse back, it’s only ok when they do it

I’m a liberal and proud of it. I frown on abuse, from wherever or whomever it comes, a lot of us liberals do you know. I respect other people’s opinions, and their right to hold and articulate them. Don’t fear us liberals so, we mean you no harm. Feel secure with your own convictions, and you’ll feel easier about ours:)

Edit. Oh and people who say “I love multiculturalism” are quite a strange bunch, I think most of them just say it because it’s popular rather than because they actually love it. Not one of them has given me a concrete reason why they should love it. Now if I ask why they love their wife for example, they can give me a concrete reason. It’s much the same with people who never met a Muslim, yet hate them, very strange.

Well, I’m wiser than when I got up this morning! Ok, you’ve got me, I genuinely ‘love’ multiculturalism! Maybe having had a 24 year career in civil aviation has something to do with it. During that time, I travelled to a great many places, I worked with, and became friends with, people from many different cultures. Through them, I learnt alot about the rich and varied lifestyles that are part of the world beyond our little island. Do I love multiculturalism? Not in the littoral sense of the word no, but I’m very fortunate to have had the privilege of experiencing it.

Some great shots. Living only 8 miles from STN, it was great to see these exotic birds fly in. I did also see the Azerbajani 767, and an Armenian A320. Thanks to Flightradar24, it was great to have advance notice of them coming. On the same day, I was following a German Govt. A340 heading our way, but sadly, it was still at FL300 over the Channel! It carried on heading west until it went out of range. I wonder how the North Koreans got here, is there an Air Koryo Tu204 or IL62 around here?;)

    And then back to ????

    Exactly.

to a degree yes !! but modern day ones are blatant with it ,, hazel blears for example one of my local close by mp’s was a bare faced blatant thieving b***h but she has still kept her seat whilst laughing at those who vote her in

excuse me ??? behaviour like hers in most other jobs would be instant dismissal !!

Unless you’re a banker, or a ‘failed fat cat’

Very positive about the rest of the Olympics Arthur, but I thought the opening ceremony had a sickening lefty multicultural bias, even if it was extremely well done…

‘Sickening lefty bias’? There must have been two ceremonies on the go at the same time. The one I was watching didn’t seem to exhibit any. As far as I’m concerned, it showcased the very best of our nations history, it’s achievements, and the people who made them happen. At the same time, IMO it resulted in an an event that illustrates the contributions that will be made by all those who take part in the games. The audience consisted of people from all over the globe, which like it or not, is a multicultural place. If that spectacular ceremony was an example of ‘sickening left wing bias’ I’ll live with it.

A damn good spectacle! I found the part where the deserving carried the Olympic flag into the stadium particularly emotional. Well done all!:)
