I despised her politics, and still do. However, that woman showed leadership, the likes of which this country hasn’t seen for very many years. She’d eat Messrs Cameron and Clegg for breakfast, and still be hungry for some more.
Sincerely Yours,
A lifelong Labour voter, until the end of Blair’s first term that is, but never since.
Glad to see that Putin is keeping the Russian types centre stage. Nice pics:)
Watch very little ‘live TV’ these days. I’m with some others here, I think Foyles War, particularly the series which sadly finished last night, was brilliant. Better in some ways than earlier series. IMO, I think of late, that when ITV do drama they do it well. It’s a shame that these types of drama shows that they do, are now very short in duration. I was a great fan, well still am, of the Inspector Morse, and now Lewis series. Some of the documantary channels put out some worthy progs, but they repeat often. Once a day, I try to catch the daily news, usually via CNN or RT, and that’s about it.

Some nice shots, especially the Tunisair, and always nice to see an SAS MD 🙂
Another wonderful collection. That Aeroflot A330 looks really cool.
The Atlantic ATP would seem to fit the bill alright.
Looks very nice indeed! I was wondering what ‘tweaks’ might be made for the 380, I’m glad that the company crest made it on there, I was really hoping that it would.
Back in the mid 80s, whilst on holiday in Cyprus visiting a serviceman friend of mine, we saw one of those beasts contrailing up from the south, over the Med, you could hear it coming for miles It was a ‘twitchey’ few days that week, in the Eastern Med, as the then Egyptian President, Sadat was assassinated. I doubt the two things were connected, but you never know;)
Going back a few years, I think that flew out of Southend a few times, on early morning flights. The noise it used to make, I thought it was coming through the bungalow, rather then flying over.
Oh, but what a lovely sound it was:) We have occasionally heard, very late at night, the Ruby Aviation An12 at high level over us, but it has a very unique high pitched drone sound to it. It always shows up on Flightradar24. It will be interesting to see what the answer to this mystery will be.
Some years ago, we used to hear the good old Air Atlantique DC6 most week nights, alas no more. I can’t think of anyone in Europe, who would be operating a large piston transport these days. Is there anyone still operating DC3s on revenue flights at the moment? I don’t know the present status of the Atlantic Cargo ones these days.
I wouldn’t mind betting that the phone line ‘tween Beijing and Pyongyang is white hot at the moment. I think that the surprise closing of the border crossing between the RoK and the Kaesong special economic zone in the DPRK, is significant. It is a another vivid example of the leadership, be it military or otherwise, shooting itself in the foot.
That zone earns the DPRK billions of dollars annually, although I suspect that 99% of that, never finds its way to the long suffering citizens of that socialist ‘paradise’ Could we be edging a little into uncharted waters, as far as the latest DPRK threats and rhetoric is concerned?

Well put Charlie, you just beat me to it. As far as children being influenced by the ‘gender configuration’ of their families is concerned, I can only speak for myself. I come from a happy, heterosexual family, so I don’t really see a correlation between the gender make up of parents, and the sexual orientation of their children.
In a way, this brings the debate back towards wether being gay or not, is a ‘lifestyle choice’ and as I’ve said in my earlier post, I honestly don’t believe in that premise at all. My fellow gays adopting kids? Personally, I’ve never quite got that, same with same sex marriage, but each to their own I guess.
