From the teasers released so far, it appears this television program is going to be a “chick flick.” I’m thinking serious aviation enthusiasts are going to be sorely disappointed.

Speaking for myself, I was not expecting anything else. However, it will be a little light entertainment along with a nice G+T:)

Some very nice shots. Really nice to see the Syrian ATR and the Egyptair. Still prefer the old ‘blue tail’ Egyptair colours. My last visit to LCA was by a BA 707, stopping at LCA en route to Riyadh. I returned to LHR on a BA Tristar 500, which originated in Nairobi I think. That dates the trip!

Nothing about a specific launch date unfortunately.

I used to have one of those. It had the famous globe symbol on it, along with the outline of a 707, and the legend ‘Jet Clipper Passenger’ below the 707. I have a feeling that it may be in my parents loft somewhere:)

Nothing boring here! Very nice pics, I’ve always liked the DC10/MD11.

Well, I don’t think that they should be regarded as anything less. Very courageous people, and in many cases, kids.

Sounds logical to me. In the last hour or so, the BBC has shown video of the interior of Ghadaffi’s personal A340, complete with jacuzzi. The plane is ‘cloaked’ in the colours of Afriqiyah. The freedom fighters escorting the film crew round, had the looks of both incredulity and astonishment.

Sad sight, but then again nothing compared to the human tragedy unfolding there. It will be interesting to see in the future, wether the new government will continue to maintain both LAA and Afriqiyah in their pre liberation forms. I understand that the Afriqiyah livery is political, and is based on the date of the creation of the African Union, considering the lack of recognition for the provisional council by the AU, I would imagine that the livery has a limited future.
