It was almost ready to fly when they were grounded. It will depend on what the owner wants to do now.
Best of British Community Day & Fly-in SUnday 16 July
Our annual Community Day & Fly-in was on Sunday. A disappointing number of visiting aircraft, possibly due to the adverse crosswinds. The Vega Gull was a nice addition to the Percival Jet provost line-up. Our friends from the Shipping & Airlines Collection also brought in their Dragonfly from Biggin Hill (and Cub). A Beagle Pup from Rochester represented that type which is celebrating its 50th year.

Classic cars are very welcome.E-mail events@emaviation.co.uk or phone 01992 525176 to book it in, and they will brief you about timings etc.

On Tuesday four 72 (R) Squadron Tucanos came through as part of the 100th Anniversary Grand Flypast of their previous RAF bases from Cornwall to Northern Ireland. The weather was a complete contrast with Monday and heavy showers and thunderstorms meant that we were the last to receive a flypast before they were forced to divert. Several 72 Squadron veterans and their families and friends witnessed the flypast at North Weald. The pictures aren’t the best quality, but they do record an important event.

Wulstan Tempest shot this down flying a BE2c from North Weald with 39 Squadron. There are other relics on display in the Imperial War Museum, Lambeth.
