Also, i think MYT A330’s use Rolls Royce Trents, and those engines defo look like CFM’s to me,so it is a A321
Bring back Lord King,he would know how to handle this situation
Yes..RyanAir had to retire some 732’s early because of cracks found in the body and also on a Qantas 744…the FAA think its down to paint removal techniques in the overlaps/joints,instead of using a wooden tool to remove the paint, some maintanence company’s have been using a metal tool. An FAA bulletin has been sent out to all airlines and Boeing is updating its maintanence procedures manual.
the FAA has quoted that fatigue crack found in one aircraft was 15-20mm long
😎 Sorry i was mistaken with the Tri-star being operated by Canadian
Just changing the subject slightly, what are the rules on Airlines either being state run or private recieving state aid to keep them afloat,i seem to remember hearing a few weeks back that Alitalia was getting huge amounts of public money just to keep them afloat and meet the payroll.. I seem to remember in the State run BA days, Maggie Thatcher wrote off all of BA’s Debts, because they couldnt sell off a technically bankrupt airline!
If Alitalia is losing huge amounts of money, surely its down to Silvio berlosconis (Sp?) government to bring in a new management team to restructure the airline, or waste more taxpayers money into an ever increasing blackhole..But it’s not the fault of other airlines who have slashed overheads and reduced costs in an ever increasing cut throat market place.
Come on Alitalia, wake up and smell the Cafe Latte
What Alitalia is asking is Illegal, but with an Italian (Romano Prodi) the president of the EU,who knows what will happen?
Yes Notts East Mids still has a very extensive model/magazine/airband radio/enthusiast shop
the only airline that i can think of that probably used all three is Canadian
easy for you to say Grey!!!……im down there almost every other day
Avoid LHR like the plague
The P&W engine is joint venture between them and MTU of Germany,The P&W was the lead engine, but the fuel burn was higher than promised,so the engine went back to the drawing board (i think they replaced a compressor) so they could get the fuel burn they promised the airlines…Frontier had ordered P&W A318’s but couldnt wait for the engine,so went for the CFM instead..i also heard the Frontier CEO say, that the CFM unit on the A318 wasnt exactly the best engine on this aircraft because of the engines weight, but overall he was very happy with the A318 itself,as it had a 98% despatch reliability and despite the CFM’s short comings, the plane has met or exceeded performance and range promises made by Airbus…he also hinted that Airbus should lower the unit price and they would sell more of them
those are good models….i have about 30-40 Woosters models in a box somewhere, the entire British airways fleet in the old “landor” colours, and an Orion 737-200, BCAL DC10, British Island Airways BAC1-11,Saudi 737-200, Western (USA) 737-200, Air UK(leisure) 737-400..and the pride of my collection is an old “BRITISH” colour scheme 737-200 and a BAE 146 in Cross Air colours
Quick Question…why has the Alitalia EMB170? got an Irish registration?
i was at farnborough yesterday (sunday),hopefully i will have some pics posted on here in the next couple of days
Did that all white 747 tail strike before take-off ,because it looks like there’s some white smoke behind it?
