Great shot si, love the way the lights are shining brightly underneath. Was that one of the new route Ryanair’s?

Yes it was on the Dinard run.
Cheers for the comments guys.

Some real classy night shots mate, the Mirya taxi shots and the CLX are really nice. If you don’t mind me asking, how long was the exposure on the last shot?
RYR need to start operating a BRS-PIK service, come to think of it BRS-BHD was be awesome also, save me a few quid on weekend travel!!
Well done
Si
Ah you managed to get these shots before the wind, rain, clouds covered the airfield…and 09 was the duty runway….unlike today! Well done on some really nice shots.

I never can see though why spotters/photographers are so worried about the quality of an operator…………
Don’t understand this statement. many photographers / spotters are very regular air travellers, a fair percentage are also aviation enthusiasts who not only take photos or or aircraft numbers but are also interested in the industry as a whole be it safety, specific airlines, cargo, GA etc, etc, please don’t pigeon hole spotters/photographers as people who are only interested in angles of shots or I” have never seen that one before” and not the background / history etc etc of the airline they are shooting or taking numbers from.
Si
Be careful with spot 1 though! Parking can sometimes be difficult at times on a weekend due to random stepladders appearing all over the place.
Approach with care 😉 ………Si understands my humour 🙂

Adam’s right, I usually arrive with an extra high, extra wide set of ladders just to make my presence known to the hardcore Easyjet spotters!;)
Good news for Bristol, but dubious about the operator, they have had some really bad luck this season on the pond routes with serious delays due to technical snags and fuel stops because of the equipment used on the service, then to top it off they had their ETOPS licence revoked (I believe it is now reinstated). GSM put a lot of the blame on the wet leased aircraft (NEOS). We cannot speculate on what equipment they will use to operate this service, personally I would like to see the 757 oon the route and I think the load factors would make it viable (COA are a great example). Bristol customers are used having an aircraft fuel stop on a long haul route (FCA fuel stop at Manchester before departing to ORL/CUN). GSM / BRS must have confidence that the route will work and I am sure the marketing team at BRS have done their GSM research, they would not offer a slot to an airline that they believe may not be operating next year. Interesting times ahead I hope GSM / BRS pull it off and I wish them well.

Steve,
Another area for Filton is the field beside 27. with parking really easy at the fast food restraunts near the huge shopping mall that is Cribbs Causeway…..but as you are probably aware Filton is not a commercial airfield and although there are some really rare birds flying in and out of the place (2×747-200’s today), geting arrival and departure info is very difficult, you just have to take a chance. I agree with the rest of the guys Lulsgate is your best bet and although the departures and arrivals this time of year is mainly orange or blue you can get some cracking images. Here is a map of the various areas around the field. I will be around spot 1 late Saturday morning, if you need any directions PM me and I will send you my mobile number and hopefully point you in the right direction.

Nice one Rab, Love the F100 on the plinth, is that like a gate guard at Glasgow;) Mate the contast / saturation could do with a little toning down on some the shots just to make them a little more natural. Love the first helicopter shot, nice a tight and a little artistic. Outstanding shot of the lot has got to be the Thomson 757 landing shot. Hope you don’t mind my comments.
How is the sea plane service doing, is the loads levels up to what the company predicted?

Similar happened to me on GO service to Palma from Bristol, we boarded and the crew found a fault with the aircraft (pitot heating element) so they off loaded us and we boarded another aircraft parked alongside that was scheduled to depart to Edinburgh, we were delayed a total of 20 mins which was outstanding considering what the delay could have been.

Interesting set Scotty, that Singapore AF KC135 is indeed a rare bird, nice catch. Well done mate…looks a little humid!!
