What kind of scanner did you use and what do you want to use the scans for? It should be possible to get decent results on any reasonably new flatbed scanner. The pics in this thread are all scanned at a resolution of 1200dpi and 100% zoom factor on an Epson 1650 Perfection flatbed scanner with a slide/negative holder(except the two of the Draken formations). Did you use the “unsharpen mask” filter (USM) in a photo editing software on the afterwards? Try the following settings: intensity/strength 220%, Radius 2, Threshold 10 (play around a bit with these values until the result suits you). If you want to post them here, then resize the pic before applying USM. You won’t get any good results without the use of this filter.
I believe the second car is a Voisin.
Thanks for the praise!
@A330crazy: Yes, that was the show in Zeltweg
@Damien: Like your pictures too…:D
I enjoyed the show for the variety of a/c and the backdrop, and for the fact that I did not face the sun. However, traffic and crowd management was awful, and there were lots of obstacles in your way when taking pictures. These included giant loudspeakers blasting rock music in the air non-stop the entire day (the Draken formation shown above was inaudible due to the music… 😡 )
And finally, an Italian Eurofighter protoype (DA7), a very controversial aircraft in Austria which is intended to replace the lovely Draken. Hope you enjoyed the pics!
Red Bull Aerobatic Team in Zlin 50 from the Czech Republic. One a/c is rolling around the two in mirror formation….
… and here’s the pic 😀
F-16 from the Netherlands:
In 1996 a Draken was given special c/s to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of the first documented mention of Austria, or “Ostarichi” which is what the lettering says:
The last operational Drakens are in Austria – and they will be gone next year. Very impressive aircraft which I like a lot!
😀
The Turkish Stars are becoming better and better every season…
🙂
Beautiful Fokker Dr1 replica from Germany; note the saluting pilot:
… everybody’s favourite
His compatriot in a Viggen stole the show completely and let the Eurofighter look rather tame…
