Nice Pics L&S
do you have any of an earlier vintage that feature Channel Airways aircraft?
Nice work guys:)
Nice pics of Greenham, I was there aged 5!:D especially remember the Connie and Stratocruiser
I think that was the year that I had a joy ride in the DC3…have to check my log book:)
I remember the programme from my youth, what stuck in my mind was them all waiting in the ante-room in Biggin Hill during selection, and then about 10+ years later I did my first of 3 trips there (Flying Scholarship, Pilot, ALM) and whilst they had computerised the Aptitude tests, the bright orange and green sofas where still the same….as was the tension whilst awaiting your name to be called and the speculation about the order of names called and what it meant…..
We might have a similar situation over here if the weather nay-sayers are correct with their forecast for thsi weekend….
I plan to encourage more forum members to come and see us working at the Midland Air Museum.
So many people say how well we do but it would be nice to show you all around our exibits and how we acheive our work loads.;)
Robmac, I have already mentioned to Phantom Phixer that I would like to bring my kids up to your museum early in the new year, so will definately sort that one out!:D
I got an airfix 1/144 concorde, a 1/72 Corgi Chinook and a new Flight bag with removable headset bags…
I got my Dad one of the 1/200 BAF Carvairs which was warm;y received…!
so all in all a good christmas!
I have seen quite a few DVDs from this supplier, and they are all very well produced, with some great vintage footage
Nice Pics, reminds me of when the groundcrews used to get the aircraft out onto the line before dawn, and you’d walk out to do your pre-flight whilst it was still dark….:)
Check on eBay, your money will go much further, and many people must have the latest and greatest, selling their 6 month old previous toy for no money…
I have just bought a Panasonic FZ5 for £137 (£250+ new), the previous owner had decided to upgrade to the FZ7 after 6 months, only to find it was not much better, if at all!
She looks great!
Like the crew sheets from previous maintenance!
Why is the rear turret fairing the only piece not stripped of paint?
Thiery, Interesting site, thanks for posting, I will have to have a dig through my old RAF photos, I always carried an instant camera in my flight suit.
I’ve got a great one of the Severn Bridge poking through Fog somewhere, as well as an upwards shot of electricity pylons:diablo:
Nice Work!
Saw Lusty Lindy at Elvington show in 2005, brought back some fantastic memories, and the first time my wife and Kids had seen a V Bomber on take off power!
My Grandfather got us into a Hatfield open day and Factory tour in the early ’70s thanks to Channel’s custom, I was about 3 or 4 at the time, I can remember everything looking big, and all the Tridents were either green or in CAAC colours
Once I have finished my spitfire I am going to attempt all of these
- Mosquito
- DC3/C-47 (possibly with electric motors)
- Lancaster (Definately with electric motors)
Tony Nijhus has done plans for all of those, but I would look at the ARTF GWS DC3, it has a 5′ span and costs £80! By all accounts it flies very well
